Nope they never taught me how to cook. I learned all that I know from school and experimenting on my own. I'm a pretty good cook actually. In middle school I had teen living where you learned how to cook stuff so that was a pretty cool and useful class.

I have been cooking since I was big enough to reach the stove top standing on a chair!! My Nana and my mother both showed me a thing or two in kitchen, as well as my dad an grandfather. Mostly, I learned from cookbooks and the Food Network. I am a really good cook, too-if I do have to say so myself! With my kids, I bring them into the kitchen every night to help me cook dinner. We make cookies and candy at Christmas every year, and they help me make all of our holiday dinners. My sons make all their own breakfast and things like this. They love to cook, and I try to teach them everything I know. My youngest is seven, and he cooks egges and toast every morning for everyone in the family. I think it is important for them to learn how to cook, clean and other domestic abilities in order to care for themselves for when they get out on their own.

alittle bit but not really. I kind of did some of it on my own and I did take a class in high school not that I really remember anything from that. They should teach more of how to make family meals instead of fancy stuff.

At first my mom taught me everything but later on I decided to cook on my own. I learned to bake to by myself. Its much more fulfilling but its also nice knowing your mom supported you and help you through it.

Yes both my mother and father teach me how to cook delicous food, but I'm lazy and seldom cook myself. Now my family and parents are living together, so they would prepare everything well.Sometimes my habby would cook but he's not good at it. All my job after work is to play with my daughter and have supper.Life is so nice to live with parents, right? lol!

when i was a kid i always watch my mom cooking and help her in the kitchen. maybe that's the main reason why i have learned how to cook. and i also love reading cook books and try whatever recipe that would interest me, and my mom is always the critique.

I helped my mom in the kitchen all the time when I was young. My sisters never really took much interest but I loved it. I even tried to bake a cheese sandwich in my easybake oven once. That wasn't a pretty sight either! LOL I am a pretty good cook now from what I was taught but I wouldn't want to go up against mom in the kitchen! LOL
