He simply meant his wife does everything for him because he's such a MAN. You know, she cooks, she cleans, she washes the dishes and she gets naked whenever I ask her to.
There's no slavery in Brazil and his wife probably calls the shots, he was just trying to seem cool. It's pretty normal for guys to act that way. Trust me, there's no weird different culture in Brazil.

It has nothing to do with Brazilian culture. There is a lifestyle where people choose to be slaves both women and men. There are male and female submissives who choose to live their lives in this way under a set of rules agreed between the partners.
Where they are very lucky is when it also becomes a love relationship and marriage or 24/7 makes it into a wonderful lifestyle for them.

Sharra: For some reason BDSM never crossed my mind, most married men I know refer to their wives as slaves jokingly. Granted, I'm not from Brazil, but we Argentines aren't all that different so I figured it might be just that.
Your point makes more sense though

It's probably a dom/sub relationship. As others have said, this is a chosen lifestyle in which one partner in the relationship is dominant and the other submissive. They have a master/slave persona. To each his own.
Why didn't you ask him? I would be curious to know his anwser.

That is odd for someone to call his wife a 'slave wife'. He might be joking but to tag that to his wife is only telling me that he is a person that has gone out of mind and does not appreciate his wife. In every marriage husband and wife are equal and no one should be considered a 'slave'. The husband holds an important role as the head of the family and the breadwinner while the wife is the homemaker that ensure the smooth running of the home and take cares of the children and she should not be viewed as a slave or any degrading names that reduce her importance in a marriage. Tell that guy to fly kite if he should say that again.

This guy is disrespecting his wife. His pronouncements is one that he does not love this lady he married and so she does everything for him. She cooks, washes his laundry, look after the kids if there is any and clean the house while he sits allow and does nothing. He is not a man he is a monster.

i think the Slave has been abolished all over the world. maybe he has a slave wife means he has a woman servant and the maid can give some special service to him. you can ask him what i said. if i am right, please let me know.

Well there is a lifestyle called BDSM where people take on roles of Dominant and slave by choice as it suits there personality to do so. I chose that role in my relationship. It is not what you would regard as a normal slave since it is not legal but the submissive takes it very seriously and most of them would not break the rules.
It is quite possible to be a submissive/slave partner and I have known both women and men who have chosen this role. The women have a male dominant and the male submissive have a female dominant. So yes it is possible to be a slave wife or a slave husband.
It is all about choice and lifestyle interests.

I can't see it is meaning as others have said .. bdsm etc .. i think maybe his English is not too good and he means he has an arranged marriage .. and maybe because it is not marriage out of love that he considers her a slave wife .. anyway i would suggest just ask him what he means ..

I think he is being funny (joking with you). My husband calls me a slave but he does not mean it. I cook and clean so he thinks I am a slave to him.
A lot of guys say that here too, but the wife is usually a good one but they will not say it to their friends as this makes them look soft.

it probably the way they put a wife as a slave, the way they used to treat a woman like a slave in da house. i dont know much bout Brazil too, but i think stuff like that could be happen anywhere not just in Brazil. its just that, that guy ure talking with was so rude talking bout his wife like that. i hate it already. even a slave have a heart, no1 has the right to degrade them coz they might have a sort of hard situation that pushed them to become a slave.

I too even don't know brazil if you have a slave she can't be your wife and if he have a wife she can't be his slave so i think he is assuming his wife as a slave or his slave as a wife and doing all the nonsence with her but i strongly belive that if we have just physical relationship with a lady she can not be our wife the feeling of patner should come from the heart no problem and it does not matter if we have a physical relationship or not
