I hear from my friends more when they are deployed!

During Desert Storm 
, I had a friend in the Air Force that was in charge of the phones I think, and he would track me down if he couldn't find me! He'd call my mom's place, my work and even my boyfriend's place (boyfriend hated that!). 
Times have changed a bit and I just got off the phone with my best friend, who has the Internet in her room. Apparently, Yahoo has a thing where she can talk for $0.01 per minute! Not exaclty sure how that works, but we talked for 1 1/2 hours.
Anyway, it is much easier to talk to her, now that she's deployed, because her kids aren't there....which is another reason she needs to talk to someone!
How about you? Do your friends call you more when they're deployed?

I don't have any friends in the armed services though some of my kids have. I am sure it can be lonely being away from home in a strange land, especially at this time of year. One of our local volunteer fire departments is taking donations for phone cards for service people. That is a good idea.

it happens so...when anyone is deployed there is nothing much to do and the person searches what to do in the time which is otherwise very difficult to pass, so naturally he/she finds the most easiest way to be in touch with the most nearest and dearest ones...so we should be happy that atleast becoz of that reason they find the reason to talk to us...and we get in touch or else in this busy world we even forget to call...isnt it?

Maybe they just feel lonely over there and needs someone to talk to.. hehe ^_^ It's good for u, at least it means that u are somebody to them ^_^ hehe
So far i do not have such a luck like u do, and i will want my frenz to remember me too.. haha =D BUt i do call my frenz when i'm deployed, simply because i'm bored.. lol

Yes internet can be a good thing but sometimes it is cause of a lot of trouble, but un case it is great theat you can talk to your friend without any worries. Good for you.

Yes when people get bored and lonely they will suddenly remember friends and family
you will become their best buddy from home. I don't mind. I'm happy to help out since i don't want to be where they are.
