It wasn't supposed to, but when the wet started coming down, I told the roomie it sounded like sleet and so it was, then it changed to SNOW!!! It isn't even WINTER YET!! SNOW in Central Texas! Not that it stayed, it was 80º before the front came in so the ground was WAY too warm to stick, but it fell!!! Here's a link to the local news about it! http://www.news8austin.com/content/your_news/default.asp?ArID=226525

Texas gets occasional snow I know. Well here inm Minnesota we can get a lot of snow. But the other day we did get about 5 inches and we will have a white Christmas. Back on Halloween day 1991 we got 48 inches in a 24 hour span. Yes 4 feet of snow all fell in one day. All the cities were closed down as this was hard to clar from the roads etc. I loved that storm. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I don't drive anymore because of those kinds of people. They expect everyone to drive as recklessly as they do with their speeding and their tailgating. Here in Sacramento County in California it happens without fail, even with the limited area I cover as a pedestrian, it is so obvious - when the ground gets a little wet, these criminals think it is OK to drive recklessly and deliberately spin out on public roads. And people wonder why there are so many traffic fatalities here. Many are single car accidents, but sometimes those non-humans take innocent lives with them.

We can close down the town on a few inches, if it sticks to the roads, around here hardly anyone knows how to drive on ice. I waited 3 days after the last ice storm and STILL nearly got hit by the moron in front of me putting on his brakes on a still icy bridge. I had slowed down to cross the bridge, but had to go fast enough to get to the top on momentum, then I had to touch the brake to avoid the moron, but at least I didn't do a 180 after slipping all over the 2 lanes and ending up in the medium (that is grass) and barely avoiding a road working machine parked there! I did slide a bit when I touched it, but I turned into the skid, took my foot off the brake and maintained control of my van. What a MORON!

Wow. We have had a few snow flurries here in Indiana but that was about it so far. None of it has stuck here yet. I hope we have a white Christmas. I hope you enjoy the holiday season also.

I'm hoping for moderate weather over Christmas - but you never know. I like those 60º Christmases rather then the 80º or the 30º ones.

Hopefully, from my point of view, this will be the only snow of the year, but if it isn't, I plan to spend the time either in bed or in front of my computer!

I've seen 90's and 100's in Austin in Feb, so snow is a rare event. We are known to get some cold weather, but cold and wet isn't that common.

You may get more of the same next week, as I am informed by my lady friend in Oklahoma that they are expecting a big cold front to come through on Monday - ice storm expected apparently. So wrap up warm and turn the heating up!

Oh yeah! We got some in the Houston area. We just got a light dusting where I live but some areas got as much a 3 inches. Of course now this morning during rush hour, due to the icy streets, bridges, and overpasses, it was anything but rush hour....

I saw that on the news last night and today about the snow up your way. Another myLotter who lives in Bryan was getting snow earlier and posted some pictures. If it snowed here it would not have stuck either, way too hot before the front blew in.

Just goes to prove it can snow anywhere, huh? I wonder if Arizona got any. How does snow make it to the ground at 80 degrees? We've had it melt before landing at 40 degrees. Must have been some fast snow and must have been really cold at a low altitude? At 80 degrees, that is quite the surprise!

It wasn't 80 when it snowed, it was in the low 30's. We had a massive front blow in. Heck, you hear about HOUSTON today - some parts got inches of snow!

No, its HOT in the summer and mild in the winter with occasional cold days, the longest cold snap I can remember was almost 3 weeks of below freezing. That is never getting above freezing, we aren't used to that, and we don't build for it!

They just send everyone home at midday in our Hattiesburg (Mississippi) office because of bad freezing rain. It's getting colder here in South Florida too - in the 60's now! Last night it was blowing a gale. I live on the 7th floor of a condo block, and the wind was howling all night long. We had the kitchen window open one end and the balcony door the other, wind was blowing through, but it was so humid I couldn't sleep. Very unfomfortable... Sometimes it's nice to be cooler...

I like wind myself, but cold and wind... well, depends on how cold. I don't like humid - but at least it saves the citrus crop.

I guess you were really excited to see some snow - i mean that is always nice to see even if some of us may not like winter. In Bucharest, Romania it has not snowed yet, but the ground has begun to freeze in the last days.

Not me, I haven't been excited to see snow for over 30 years! The cold makes my body ache, I'd just as soon spend the day in bed as opposed to getting out in the cold, much less the cold and WET!

Houston area here! Yesterday was crazy. My mom sent me a text message sayign it was snowing outside and I thought she was joking around but sure enough it was snowing. I had to go out and buy my son a good jacket because we are just not prepared for this kind of weather. It almost never happens. Since like 1895 it has only snowed 17 times in Houston.

I have family in texas and got a text sayingit was snowing. I was in disbelief because it never snows there! In NC we go a dusting before thanksgiving. its a crazy winter when I can go skiing in the NC mountains before thanksgiving, yet places out west like the canyons opened two weeks later and only have a few slopes open
