As we all knew, christmas is seemingly the perfect time for all the nice things in the year. Ideally, it is in this season where families and loved ones are expected to bound and gathered together specially in christmas eve; the time for giving and when we talk about giving it's often associated w/ gifts and presents. Everybody are expected to be happy during christmas.
However, sometimes there are some reasons why people seem to be feeling doomed and gloomy in celebrating this season, hence the so-called "christmas blues". Can you do something to avoid or deal such? Wanna hear some of your sharings.

Right after Halloween, I usually get pretty depressed and there is one thing that picks me up! I listen to upbeat country music like George Strait. Seriously, there is no way I can continue being sad if I can sing along to some love songs. It might be just me and I might be a poor sap for love songs but it does the trick.

well that's a good way to beat the sad feeling or usually the x'mas blues. I guess everybody experienced it at some point in their lives and everybody has different solutions made to beat the sadness and boredom.

Speaking of Christmas blues, I think I have that feeling since I arrived here in this country. I feel sad because I can not be with my family. Christmas time is the only season we can have family gatherings since we are living apart from each other. When I migrate, It is really very hard to just fly and joined my family's get together.
On the other hand, I beat that feeling by joining some close fiends who invited us to be with them on this special occasion. Though things are far different from what I used to, I still able to manage to smile and be happy in spite of the blues.
Merry Christmas and God Bless.

We have pretty much the same situation.....I mean being away from home this x'mas. Yes that's true, the pain and loneliness brought about by physical separation lingers longer in this season. Memories at home w/ our loved ones are often remembered and it makes us more homesick.
But I guess I now try to learn to beat such loneliness by associating w/ fellow Filipinos here in the USA. I was attending parties and gatherings whenever I can. That way I feel a little at home and it eases boredom as well.

I always get the "blues" at Christmas. I think it is because I miss my family and kids (they live miles away). The one thing I do to fight the blues is to think of and remember the reason for the season. Christ was born, and that is the true meaning of Christmas. It isn't what you get or give, but rather what a great gift God gave the world. I try to remember this throughout the holiday, not only when I'm down.

Yes I guess everybody has each christmas blues at one point in their lives, and mostly this happends w/ those fart from their loved ones. I have mine too. I am away from my friends and family for the first time and this is my first x'mas away from home. It might take me quite a long time to be w/ them again as we are now halfway across the world. However, I try to beat the homesickness through associating w/ a lot of people here in the USA specially w/ filipinos. In fact, me and my husband will be attending a x'mas party w/ other filipinos tonight.

My heart goes for you. Honestly I felt the same way wayback sometime ago. I just can't explained it but I had those feelings of unexplained loneliness (or might be emptiness) inside despite the joy the season was bringing to everybody. However, I am so delighted every time I hear christmas songs; oh I love them very much! Actually I would say they are the ones who can ease those christmas blues I had before.
Well I really don't know what made you feel generally depressed on X'mas, or ar eyou like that every time this season is coming? But whatever it is, I hope you'll feel delighted at some times. You have to cheer up.
