Are they the best dogs?

Hi everyone, I have always liked golden retrievers. Does anyone out there own one? I would be interested in hearing from people who have owned or do own one. Do you think they are a good pet? How much did you pay for yours? How old do they usually live to? Tell me about your golden retriever? Was it intelligent? What sort of things did it do? I mean what habbits did it have, good or bad? My friend owned one and it stayed with me for a while. It was a male and he was one of the best dogs. He was house trained and very intelligent. I am planing to buy one when my current pets die. Don't get me wrong, i love my dogs, but they are both getting on in age. So, i decided i would like to buy a golden retriever when they pass on.

i owned one, or should i say she owned me lol. they are fantastic dogs, smart, quick learners, and very loyal. she lived to be 14 years old, i had her from when she was 9 months old. she loved to dance, when i had a treat for her, she would stand up and go around in a circle. she also knew when i was full and there was something left for her, when i took a big sigh lol. i would recommend a golden to anyone.

it has been 8 years and i still miss her even though i have a wonderful chesapeake bay retriever now,

I love Golden Retrievers. They are my favorite kind of dog, not only are they the best breed of dog to get when you have children, but they also make good leader dogs for the blind. I love their beautiful golden fur and their mild nature. I had a Golden Retriever once. He was very smart. It broke my heart when we had to give our dog up. He was a male and was house trained within days after getting him. I do believe they are one of the gentlest dogs around. I definitely plan on getting a Golden Retriever when I can...they are the best family pet.
