this young man happens to be a friend that i have known since i was young i just want to know what is your take on the situation .i have enclosed a copy of the article from our local newspaper . i wont sue his name in this page . The youngesr person in Oneida County ordered back in court after state ordered that his deprived indeffence case be reciewed. He was 15 years old when he went to jail he was sentenced to 5 to life in prison 10 years ago for fatally shooting a man who ripped him off during a drug deal in Utica, NY in 1988. At the time he pleaded guilty to second drgree drpraved indifference murder for for recklessly creating a grave risk of death by repeatedly firing a gun in the direction of another person . Since that time he has been arguing to overturn the conviction because of ineffective assistance from his lawyer . His lawyer never told him that his case could be tried in family court and kept telling him to plead guilty to the murder charge . If his case had been tried in family court he would of gotten of lesser charge of second drgree manslaughter .
