Am I Dreaming?

I woke up this morning at about 2:00 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep. I had to tinkle, yet knew if I got up I would never go back to sleep. Of course the longer I lay there without going to the bathroom, the worse it got.
Anyway, I lay there pondering, and then wondered if others experience the same thing.
Before waking up, I know I was in a heavy dream, and right in the middle of the dream, I had to go to the bathroom. Now there was nothing in the dream that had anything to do with needing a trip to the loo, but I guess because I DID have to go, it worked itself into my dream. That happens a lot!
So, tell the truth. Do 'real' situations sometimes get in the middle of your dreams?

Lol I have had this happen to me twice, I must have needed the toilet but was sleeping deeply and so the need for the toilet came into my dream and in my dream I went to the toilet, sat on it and started to wee! I woke up just in time! The second time this happened I was pregnant with my fourth child and while sleeping dreamt that I needed the toilet again in my dream I sat on the toilet and started to wee but something said " you are not really on the toilet" I tried to stop the flow but could not and woke up. I could not understand why the flow would not stop until it hit me suddenly "my waters have broke"!

Only twice? I'll bet it happens to me twice a month!
Oh, I'll bet that was a surprise when your water broke. Yea, there isn't much you can do to stop that one!

I think the having to go tinkle in the middle of the night is an age thing. I have to get up and go at least twice every night. It's so aggravating to have to get up from the nice warm snuggly bed just to go tinkle. Then it's some times impossible to go back to sleep. As for dreams I seldom remember having any. An no I have never had a solution to any problems come to me in dreams

Yes, I've dreamed that I'm in pain like my leg caught in a trap and I wake up with a cramp in my leg. Or I need to tinkle and in my dream I'm headed to the bathroom. That's pretty common, I guess.

Oooh! Don't you just hate it when that happens?*L*
I dreamed once that we were having a big outdoor party in our back yard, which wasn't so unusual at the time, but I had to keep leaving the party to go inside to use the bathroom. After about 10 trips inside, I thought I was done. I went back outside, and just as I stepped out the back door, I had to pee sooooo bad. You know that little twinge/ache thinggie you get when you have to go really, really, really bad? I got one of those and knew I wasn't going to be able to get back into the house and to the bathroom, so I opened one of the ice chests, saw that there were no drinks in it, just the ice and water. I plunked myself down on the edge of the ice chest, butt hitting the cold water. I jumped up so fast.
In reality, I sat straight up in bed, jumped up and ran to the bathroom. It seemed like the dream went on for hours, and I kind of wondered just how long my brain had been trying to wake me up enough to actually go to the bathroom.*L*

Yes, I have woken up many times from dreams having to go really bad. In my dreams I try and try to go to the bathroom but no matter how much I go I always still gotta go...finally I wake up and rush to the bathroom having to go badly. This happens to me at least once or twice a month.

All the time. I remember when I was fully employed for wages... uh, "working"... I'd quite often end up doing similar work in my dreams. Quite annoying!
Then there's the dreams where I need to pee and can't find a private toilet... but that's another story.

Oh gosh yes, I've 'worked' in my sleep too. It was the worst when I was still in the Marine Corps and very heavily involved in a making databases that got our troops deployed and back. I was figuring out how many troops per airplane and all sorts of other logistical stuff. Tough enough to do fully awake.

That happens to me a lot, not only with going to the bathroom, but with the alarm clock. It goes off sometimes for a minute or two before I am able to separate it from my dream and wake up. I guess it's because I am in such a deep sleep that it takes a while for those things to wake me up.

Hi frnds,
In this world of dream
my soul dream a truer dream
whose mighty pulse will lift
thee to a high pinnacle
and make thy body vibrant
with new life.
dream,my soul of that happy realm
where joy abides alone in unbroken
oneness
and life reigns in eternal surety.
dream,my soul,where love dwells in
harmony
and beauty in its virgin loveliness.
dream of divine ecstasy
whose eternal melody is sung by all
created things.
stop not dreaming this great dream
till its image to thy soul with
a living tongue.

The bathroom situation works its way into my dreams quite often. It happens in the most absurd fashion that I usually end up laughing myself awake.

It's true! Usually it's in the middle of a 'scene' that has absolutely nothing to do with the bathroom in the first place.

Yes, it does for me too, but it's usually the alarm radio that does it. I'll be asleep and all of a sudden the conversation in my dreams shift then I realize it's the radio being weaved into my dream.

augh
this happened to me tonight too - well at 12:30 am and now at 7:30 I am good and tired but my kids will be up soon.
I often wake when I have to GO in my dream
the most recurring scenerio is:
I am cleaning the toilets in a restroom and there is a huge line of toilets - seemingly endless - the doors are all glossy black.... I have to stop and use each one after I clean them, but am never satisfied - as soon as the next one is cleaned the urge is overwhelming that I yet again try to empty my bladder.
Thanks be to God that I have always eventually woken up in time!

Every now and then, I went and ate pizza the other night and I woke up just in time to feel the acid from my stomach flow into my mouth, it was horrible, I did get up and try to drink something but it didn't help. I'm glad I woke up because that was the worst feeling ever.

LOL You aren't the only one that experiences that. Luckily I at least wake up now! As a child I'd either sleep walk (and sometimes pee where I shouldnt, lol) or I'd not wake up to realize I really had to go. Ahhh the things we deal with as kids. It seems with me I'm usually dreaming about one thing and then all of a sudden a lake, river or bathroom appear like magic in the dream. Thats about when I wake up. And you know the annoying thing? Half the time when I lay there like you and finally go in to go, it was hardly worth the trip. Wonder why we can't convince our bladders that we really don't have to go?
