What are good office gift, exchange gifts?

for exchange gifts i like giving practical things such as food or basic necessities such as soap (the nice kind) or towels. Food like a box of brownies or cookies is especially nice too so that the recipient can share the gift with their family :)

It's difficult, it depends on the person you have to buy for. Is it male or female? Maybe get a giftcard for a restaurant.

$25 for exchange gifts is a very good budget - you can get lots of stuff. How about desk accessories, like memo holders, corporate/executive folders, fruit or cookie hampers, diaries?

I will say anything that do with the office I will guess.

I would recommend a nice christmas ornament. Walmart has them for a bout $5 and they can be engraved and all. Or I would recommend a tin of cookies or something like that. maybe a nice gift basket with some scented candles and maybe some chocolates or something.

$25 can still buy quite a bit these days. Since this gift is for a coworker, you don't want anything too intimate such as a bath set or perfume because you wouldn't really know what their personal preferences are unless you know them well. If we were to keep it on a more professional level I would suggest a nice pen and pencil set, personalized stationery (if you're assigned in pairs), or perhaps a meat and cheese basket.

In our country, you could buy a cheap colored mobile phone, or a gadget watch, or a electronic shaver, or a memory card, a sound card.. anything for the techie guy and gal.

Well for my office gift exchange this year, we did white elephant, so I payed $0 for it. One from my boyfriend and one from myself were both around the house, so I ended up doing good this year. The only thing I had to buy for the party was the sauce for the food I was making, everything else was in my house so it worked out.
