The first job I had was selling candy. Yep, I was a door-to-door salesperson. It was in the summertime and I was 12 years old or so at the time.
A friend of mine told me how she was making money selling candy. It sounded like fun and I wanted to give it a try! So she told her boss and he put me to work. But I have to say it was an awful job. It was commission based only and each box of candy we sold earned us only around 80 cents each, even though they were being sold for 5 dollars (which was almost twice as much as what the grocery stores sold them for ). And worst of all we worked over 8 hours a day walking around in the heat. Like I said it was during the summertime and the temps were in the triple digits some days. Most people didn't want to buy candy, at least not any of the stuff we sold, so I hardly made anything at all. All that walking in the heat for nothing. It was very discouraging to say the least. I ended up getting sick (probably due to the heat) shortly after I started and quit right then and there as my boss was not sympathetic at all. All the other kids that worked with me quit after that. I guess that they didn't like how I was treated.

Hello! My first job was at a grocery store. I was a cashier & a stocker there. I worked there from 2001--2005. I didn't work during high school. It was an okay job, and I would consider working for them again. It was a part time job. I now work full time as a customer service rep on the phone. It's interesting, but it can be annoying sometimes. I like the pay better, but I think I will be moving on soon. I've work with them for a year.

I didn't work during my student life because my parents didn't allow me to do so. I only started working after graduating from university. My first job was at a local IT company, with a monthly pay of $2000, which is quite high for a fresh graduate. I was pretty blur and innocent back then. Time really flies, and it has already been 5 years since that day.

My first job was at Build a Bear Workshop. I was 16, and I started out at $6.50/hr. Which at the time I thought was a TON of money, especially since back then minimum wage was at $5.15/hr. I worked there for about 4 years.
It was fun, not only was I a sales associate, but I also performed children's birthday parties, trained new employees, prepared bank deposites, balanced cash drawers and so much more. I also was in my first roberry when I worked there. It was extremely scary but at the same time I worked there for 3 additional years afterwards in order to help prevent it from happening there again. At the age of 16 I was able to help tighten the security in the store.

When I graduated in 2005 I missed a good job chance in hospital.
In order to obtain a registered permanent residence in Shanghai I signed up in a very very small company. My salary is very very low compared with my classmates.
After then I interviewed several company, all are failed because I am at the age of pregnancy.
My job is easy in that small company though I was given a low salary. So I decided to give a birth to a baby in this small company. I did so. My son is 2 years old now. He's healthy and lovely. And I have left my first job with a higher salary.
Though my salary is low, I still thank my first boss for giving me a chance.
Sometimes we should lose something for obtaining something. The God is justice.
And I would never regret for my first low salary job.

Hey, my first job was at Whataburger, its a small chain of restaurants mainly in southern US, and I think there are one or two places in Mexico. It was a fast food place, now I realize that it was one of the worst jobs I will have ever worked. I work at Starbucks now, and its way better than any fast food place.

My first job was at McDonald's. That's the typical first job for a young adult of 16. It was an ok job, but I think I couldn't do it now. I hated going home smelling like dirty water and stale onions.
