Have you ever wondered about sayings and their meanings.

Have you ever wonderer how happy the sandboy was? Or how blind the bat is. After all the can find their way around in the dark and I can't do that. (I know they have sensors). What about a stitch in time saves nine. Who sews clothes these days. Now I can understand that a pig could be happy in s**t and a dog would be happy with two tails but why would someone be as thick as a dockers sandwich or as thick as a plank? And why should the pot call the kettle black?

Some of them do make sense, but I have to admit that there are many that seem to completely defy explanation. The sandboy example is a new one for me actually as I have not heard that one before. We have a slightly different version of the dog with two tails example in my country too. Let's just say that our equivalent is in relation to the dog being happy because he has two OTHER appendages instead! As for the pot calling the kettle black, I never even knew that pots had phones! One that has always amused and intrigued me at the same time is: "They are dumber than a sack full of hammers!" How the heck did someone come up with this one you think??

I rarely come across the "sack full of hammers" reference either, but it pops up from time to time and I have always wondered where it may have orginated? Thanks for the best response tag too wanderer!

It would make more sense to be called horseboy. It is confusing what some things are called. Thankyou for your response. Sorry I was so late in answering.
