Something struck my 14 year old son and I as extremely funny in church a few months ago and we just could not stop giggling. Afterwards my husband said "You two can no longer sit together!"I felt like a little kid in school. Actually that happened to me a lot in school too!
How about you? When was the last time you laughed at an inappropriate moment? Did you get caught? What happened?

I am basically a happy person and I enjoy having a good laugh most of the time. But of course laughing should be done at the right time and place. I understand though that sometimes we do can't help but laugh even at an inappropriate moment as what happened to you and your son in your church. I did experienced so many of such inappropriate moment of laughing but the most memorable was when I and my hubby were rendering a special number in our church worship service. Imagine that, it was supposed to be a solemn kind of presentation but I could not help by laugh when I remembered the funny experiences we had during the time we were rehearsing the song. It was really funny so when we started singing and it was the time of my hubby to sing his part, I remembered the funny inside story and I laughed but good thing, I was able to control immediately. When we finished the song, I apologized to the congregation and explained why I laughed and they all did laugh as well. I can't detail here the story. My husband might get angry with me. Ha!ha!ha!

Hello rocketj1
What is it about churches that the most inappropriate things always happen there? Just last night I was in church with my 3 boys, two of which were doing a nativity story with the boys brigade whilst my 3 year old sat with me and watched. I was trying to keep him entertained by telling him what was going on. I wispered in his ear that the baby Jesus was now in the crib and he shouted out 'That's not a real baby mummmy'! I certainly wasn't on my own when I burst out laughing. There sure wasn't any fooling him either!

You sound like me when I was a little girl. It is good to have fun and laugh though and sometimes we do do it at inappropriate times.
I was out walking with my husband during the Summer. It was a beautiful evening but the sun was still very strong. We where walking along when the next thing "Bang" my husband walked into a lampost.
Well it was so funny and I was doubled over in two laughing at him. He was really annoyed with me and stormed off as he had hurt himself.
He did not forgive me for hours but I still laughed days later as it was the funniest thing I had seen in years.
Not so funny for the poor hubby though.

One time I was watching one of those television shows that has a bunch of video clips of amazing things like car accidents and stuff. One of the clips that I saw was of a military band playing in a field for some type of ceremony and there were sky divers who were supposed to land int he field nearby, but one of the skydivers lost control and plowed into the marching band. The guy took out the entire row of tuba players.
I felt really bad because a few of the guys got hurt but I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that clip. Even when I think about it now I start to laugh.
I also start laughing a lot when I'm reading funny books, so sometimes I'll be sitting in the library reading and I'll start laughing. Other people give me funny looks, but I don't really care because I'm enjoying myself.

I can relate to that. Maybe its the absurdity of tubas toppling. If you were really there, you probably would have been too shocked to have reacted that way. But there is something about seeing things like that on video.
As far as the library goes, hey...I do stuff like that all the time!

LOL! I always laugh at the inappropriate moment. I love to laugh and if I feel like laughing then I forget whether it is an appropriate moment or an inappropriate moment. Sometimes, I pay the price also for laughing at the wrong moment. Once in my school days, I laughed when the School Principal was teaching and he caught me laughing and I was given the marching orders to leave the class.

For me it was my daughter and I had to take my oldest son to the hospital and while he was in pain we had to run home for him and get a few things from his house because he was going to spend the night in the hospital. Well it was like 4 am an we both had been up all night with his pain in his stomach and when we stopped at his house my daughter farted just as she knocked on the door for his room mate to answer!!! She and I started giggling so hard we started fanning the air it was hilarious. My son is ok now but thinking back on that moment it wasn't a very nice thing to do to his room mate lol.

Oh My! Church was mine too. I had my niece with me (she is 13) and this older gentlemen got up to address the congregation and accidentally passed gas as he stood up. It was very loud and I hurt from trying not to laugh. After he said his thing and sit down I just couldn't stop thinking about it.
I finally told her I was going to get up go to the restroom and for her to wait just a moment and go out and meet me at the car. When I leaned over to tell her I was going to the restroom she lost it!
We fianlly just got up and left. I hated to be rude but I thought we were being a whole lot more rude by staying and laughing.
That was absolutely the most tickled and embarrased at the same time I ever was. And I wasn't even the one who passed gas! LOL

The other day I was in a waiting room, waiting on a friend I had driven to an appointment. I was looking through a magazine, and found a brief story about a guy who took his son on nature hikes, looking for birds. One bird they looked for was called a blue footed boobie. For some reason that struck me funny and I just started laughing hysterically. I looked the bird up later and they really do have huge blue feet.

On two occasions I've seen obese people fall out of chairs. When I was in high school an obese girl sat down at a lunch table and the whole table collapsed. I don't think I've ever laughed harder before in my life. The second time I saw an obese girl fall out of a spinning chair. And I tried not to laugh because no one else was but I couldn't hold it.
