my dream is to become a photographer, and i want to buy myself a digital slr camera like canon or nikon, but i dont know which one is the best. im just a beginner, but i wanted to have a camera with quality. i have some ideas on nikon d40, d60 and d90, but i think the best answer will be the suggestions of some professional photographer here and suggestion of camera men who have their dlsr already.. people with experiences can suggest too..

Canon ha DSLRs at about this price, and they are fine cameras; the Nikon is an easy camera to use, but quite old-tech and not in the same class as the equivalent Canons (the reverse is true with the current higher priced Nikons compared with the equivalenbt Canons).
I wou;d look closely at Pentax and Sony. Both make excellent cameras with a wide range of lenses and accessories. They have image stabilisation in the camera bodies (Canon and Nikon do not - that means more expensive lenses if you want stabilisation) and as later starters in the DSLR stakes, they provide many innovations and extras as they push their cameras forward to compete with the BIG TWO.

Hi,
I think that it is quite hard to get a DSLR at $300.00 because most DSLR are priced higher than $300.00. If you have extra money, you might want to get Nikon D40 because I think it is the cheapest DSLR in the market. It doesn't have live view, so taking photos using D40 can only be done using the view finder.
