Not too many people still have an older game like you do, I know my brother in law does, it is something to see a game that old..Yes, I remember the game, my daughter has hers here up in our attic..We haven't played it in a while, but it would be good to bring down for the holidays..:)

1955 Version of Candy Land - Candy Land Game
I found this one at the thrift store....I was so excited to find all the cards...this one is dated 1955... I paid like .49 cents for it...

Oh, so it wasn't one that you had? That is amazing, because having a game that old with all the cards is very slim, you really got a deal..

We have this game and play it with the grandkids when they come to visit. We also have Chutes and Ladders! The kids really love playing board games. This is often a new experience for the kids that are brought up in the electronic era and only play video games.

Dominoes are also a fun game to play with them. Hubby got out the marbles too. What fun they had!

I remember that game, but didn't own it, so I have never played it. I wish I had though. But that is one of the beautiful things about having children in your life, you have a good excuse to act like a kid again. Not that you really not one at all.

I wanted to say, Not that you really need an excuse at all. Oh well, I just know that being a kid can be cool. They have so many fun things to play with, hehe.

CandyLand is fun! Another favorite of mine is Chutes and Ladders. These two games are classics. I wish I still had the original of both, but any version will do.

I remembered playing that game as a kid. I bought if for my daughter so now we get to play it with her. She just has the regular version not the dora one. She also has chutes and ladders. I would like to get them more games like that to play. When they get older I would like to do a family game nights.

We have chutes and ladders and all different kinds of monopoly games..we have Clue, and many others...I have my grandsons everyday so we play several a day... Game night would be soooo much fun...

I sure do remember Candy Land and I bet my mom does too. That was my favorite game when I was a little girl. I wanted to play it over and over again. I just might buy it for my 3 year old granddaughter for Christmas. It's a game I wouldn't mind playing with the kids over and over again.

I've never heard of this one. But the mention of 'chutes and ladders' made me wonder if that's the same as 'Snakes and Ladders'. You roll the dice, and if you land on the bottom of a ladder, up you go; but land on a snake's head and it's down, down, down!

I've never heard of "Snakes and Ladders" but it is similar to "Chutes and Ladders"...You go up the ladder and down the slide..

I remember the game. I use to play it all the time when I was little and yes I still play it with my kids. I think it is a very fun game to play. Plus it really helps kids learn their colors if they don't know them.

Yes I too remember Candy Landy very fondly as well. Ironically I don't exactly remember playing it myself as a child, I played a similar care bears game. However, I played it repeatedly with my little sister and now play with my niece and nephew. It is a great game for kids, and at a certain point they can play it themselves with a little direction from an adult. Another great game children in adults can play together is the "I spy" series which is a seek and find card game. Similar to the idea of memory games but with a seek and find twist. What a great posting, you got me thinking about all of the games that I used to play as a kid. Happy Mylotting!

I will have to get the "I spy" series...We play the one where someone says, "I spy something with my little eye"...so fun... Thank you and you are very welcome...I loved all the games of my childhood...and I want my grandsons to have that opportunity as well.... We have like 50 games here, plus puzzles..you name it we have it....all except the "I spy"...lol...but I will look into it.. Thank you....Have a happy day...

I loved this game. As a child I never owned it, I could only play when I visited my cousins house. That fact made it so much more precious to me. I remember having the worst luck with the game, I rarely won, but it was such a beautiful game for kids. So simple and the characters were lovely. Recently, my friends and I wanted to be the candyland characters for Halloween. It didn't work out but I think it's a brilliant idea and a testament to how this game was loved by all.

Candy Land was my favorite game when I was little. I used to have an online version of it in the for of the Rugrats. I would still play it today it today if I could find the old version of it. I do not like the new versions of it that they sell in Walmart now.
