A Class Where You Learned Absolutely Nothing

Since I started college, I have had some of the worst teachers ever. With the exception of one of my math teachers, none of the teachers I had actually taught. They just talked about their personal lives or other unrelated topics for an hour and fifty minutes. I was talking to my mom about it and I told that I hadn't learned a single thing since I got to college.

There have been classes that were so easy that I didn't need to put in any effort. This in turn ended in me not learning anything because I already knew what the professor was lecturing about. I regret picking such easy arts/humanities/social science classes.
I've learned more in my science and math classes. This probably relates to the fact that I'm a sciences/engineering major.

In history, our teacher pushed us really hard for the 6 weeks up to the yearly exams and then after that, she just let us do whatever we want in class.

well, it is true in our life that we will meet someone unbearable, eapecially they are appearece as teachers. i do met this kind of teache.
however, i do not agree with you that their is nothing we can gain from the class, if you think they are not good, why do not you tell them to stop talking about something not ralated to the class? they may not be awared of it.
you should talk to them, and i am sure you will feel in another way.
a nice day!!

WELL,i think its quite normal.since im a collage student,i also meet this kind of professers.but i think whether you have learnt something depend on you not the professer.you cant just rely on the professers.they are experienced.they just lead you to a correct direction when you want to do some study but not teach you. collage provide us large amont of resource, such as labs,we should make full use of them.when we meet difficultise,we can turn to professers for advice.i think this is a correct way.

I had the same dilemma third trimester last year, even worst he's so boring and is stuttering. He's my instructor in CS, he may know computer but he doesn't know how to share that knowledge and he definitely don't give a damn if you get what he's talking about. I learned he was a cumlaude, some people are just intelligent but it doesn't mean they should teach! LOL! Is the world running out of qualified instructors? oh well, I'm happy thou that that person didn't last long in our school but I still didn't learn anything from my cs1.

You should do something, if there are no cation taken from the authorities to change the teachers, or your class, you should start thinking of studying by yourself, or else you'll be failed. Better do something.
