Last day of school, last day of getting up early until the new year. Going ot be lovely not having to rush to get things done before the school run, loads of lay ins and cups of tea in bed!! BLISS!!! How about you? Our children will sleep until about 8am, then we can get up slowly and take our time doing everything.

Hi ya Anne18 I too am looking forward to the alarm clock not going off for the next couple of weeks, I won't get a cup of tea or coffee in bed but the little lie in will be enough for me. I must remember to turn my alarm clock off, in fact I am going to do that right now!!

When my kids were young I always looked forward to the times they were home from school for holidays or summer.

My kids finished yesterday, I thought it was today but luckily someone told me before I ended up takin them in today, now that would have been a laugh me turning up at school and finding it shut!. I had a lovely lie in this morning and it has been a lovely steady morning, my hubby finishes for three weeks at 1pm and so that for me is when christmas really starts!!

No school? Holidays? Oh how sad. I am sure yo are going to get bored. i am sure you will get up on th first day at teh usual time and wonder why the alarm did nto go off. ha ha ha. Then you are going to go back to sleep relaxed and satisfied that yo are not late and you don't have to worry and yocan sleep an extra hour. I had some leave left over so i have taken 22 days leave from 22 Dec to 12 of Jan. But wiht me it is a little different. I like to get up early on holidays. i like to have a longer holiday. If i sleep out the holiday, what is the point in having a holiday. I love to do all teh things i cant do on a normal working day.

A leisure - a long coveted holiday! I'll spice it up with lots of joys and fun for the members of our family. Though I'm in no mood to relax, rather I'm excited to decor our sweet home for Christmas. And I'm sure our family members will love it a lot. Cheers!

Yesterday was my sons last day until January 5th. I look forward to sleeping in a little bit, but my daughter never lets me sleep in too late. Enjoy your extra snooze time.

haha.. School holidays is what most ple look forward too, regardless of parents or children.. As it means they need not wake up early for any special occasion, but as parents, they will be entitled to clear their leave because of their kids.. lol =D ALso, shop keepers and all major shopping malls, will like school holidays too, as it means more sales for them too.. lol =D When i was still schooling, i like holidays too, and i will always make sure i wont be waking up till about 10am or even later.. lol

I love this break in the school year. It comes at the perfect time when the parents and the kids need a break. I love being a stay at home mom for MANY reasons....but let me tell you I love when we can all sleep in!

I still like to get up early to get nasty chores out of the way, but it sure will be nice not to have to rush or have the privilege of going back to bed once everything is done. I can do that because I only have one child who is kind enough to let me nap when I need to by entertaining herself by watching a suitable movie or with a computer game. I am looking forward to the holidays as I miss her while she's at school.

You take your time and make the most of it.I have been like this for about a year.my fifteen year old son cannot stand me getting up with him in the morning. So I lay in bed till about nine.I have been a mother for thirty three years and now I am a lady of leisure, and a bit of housework if I get the time,it is wonderful.I always used to think getting up early ,looking for pe kit and cooking breakfast was always going to happen,no more school run.I am past all that now and it is wonderful, sometimes I miss it,but as time goes on realising my time is for me is wonderful.I have come through and survived.Merry Christmas.xxx

I'm not a parent yet, but I do feel your liberation! Being a slave for time really does take the joy out of living, it's one of those things I wish we could still have with us. Here's my proposal: get rid of the useless appendix (with no pain) and keep more freedom in our lives! HOw do you feel about that?

My kids are still in school until Tuesday, and then are off for 2 weeks. But they had no school today because we're expecting a horrible storm, and 6-10 inches of snow within a matter of hours. They didn't want to take their chances of having all the kids in school when that storm hits.

The schools here are still in session next Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately my kids still get up the same time every morning between 6:30 and 7:00am even if they don't have school. Oh how I wish they'd sleep until 8am once in a while.
