Please Clarify me..........??

CD stands for Compact Disk. When it has RW it means you can put and delete data on it. When it has just R it means you can only put but not delete the data. DVD stands for Digital Versatile Disc The RW with DVD is the same as with the CD, only a DVD has much more room then a CD.

CD-R means CD-Recordable. This means that you can only record or write once to this cd and that is it, you are not able to write over it. CD-RW means CD-Rewritable. You can write to this cd over and over and constantly delete any old stuff. This goes the same for DVD-R. This is DVD-Recordable again, you can only write to it once. DVD-RW means DVD-Rewritable. You can write to it and record over the data. I'm not too sure about the combo aspect but I guess this probably means that it does both, cds as well as dvds. I don't think that you can run a dvd on a cd-rw drive although I'm not one hundred per cent certain about this. Good luck. Andrew

It seems only doubt remaining is what a combo drive is.... Combo drive is a drive that can read and write CDs but only read DVDs. A DVD writer is the one which can read/write on both CDs and DVDs.

CD - which basically means Compact Disc CD-R - which means Compact Disc Recordable CD-RW - which means Compact Disc Rewritable DVD - which means Digital Versatile Disc or Digital Video Disc DVD-R - which means Digital Versatile Disc Recordable DVD-RW - which means Digital Versatile Disc Rewritable and finally, you've asked about combo... i can't sure which terms you're asking but i'll think that this is the meaning... combo means, there are some drives that labeled as CD-DVD Combo drive... which means that you can either run CD disc or DVD disc into it... it will work on both platform... i hope you're clear with this...
