Staying home or going out for Christmas

We used to stay home for Christmas, but with our two sons away, we go out to their place. This year, we are going early n the morning and having brunch at our older son's house and that means that I will miss Church service for the first time in years. Now my husband cannot move very well, so it will take us time to get to our son's house, and I suppose that means that I will have to cook Christmas dinner for supper since we will not be there all day. So in essence, we will be going out and staying home for Christmas.
So I was wondering whether your Christmas will be as confused as ours will be this year? Or will be the same old thing? I would rather have gone to Church, and driven over to their place in the afternoon, but my daughter-in-law's parents are divorced so she has about two different set of parents plus a grandmother to visit.

It will be a quiet christmas for us this year as the more exciting members of our family have now gone abroad for two weeks. So we will be at home all christmas and new year. Mind you im having my mum and dad for dinner on Boxing day, not literally though lol!

WE are to go to son house. But I will probably cook a ham for this crew gets hungry before bed time alot and not knowing what they are serving we might be hungery as soon as we get home. But also thinking of taking some of the ham with us as to be taking something plus our cokes for they dont have sodas around the house grand son gets more hyper if he drinks one!

We always go to my parents for Christmas, unless the weather has other plans. My mom feels that the kids should come to her house. My husband's family lives on the west coast, unless we can come into a lot of money, I don't see that happening. My husband's parents are divorced and each live in different states. Plus his mom would be hurt if we went to his dad's for Christmas over her. So it works out for all of us to go to my parents.

We are staying home this Christmas. My parents-in-law are coming over and will be staying with us for a couple of days. The day after Christmas, we will visit my parents. Their place is about 2 hours drive from us. Yeah, our schedule is a bit chaotic too but I'm sure that we can work things out. Anyway, the most important thing is that we get to celebrate the holidays with our families.

It is complicated. Well, I will just celebrate the Christma eve with my friends. Maybe they will buy me some presents. Have a great day

Wow, you are busy on Christmas. I'd lose track, lol. We stay home and my best friend and mother in-law come over for dinner. Our kids are grown and two live far away. The other son and his wife and the grandson spend Christmas day with her family. We see them usually the day after or on Christmas eve.

Used to be we had the family over for Christmas, now we go to our oldest son's for Christmas, but it is becoming complicated, what with trying to figure out whose house to go to. And the trouble is that my husband does not tell me anything until the last minute. So a couple of days ago, he springs this on me, that they want us over by nine am in the morning on Christmas day because brunch is at eleven.

Lets see, on Christmas day I will stay at home, open presents, and eat an early dinner, then I will go to my boyfriends house and do Christmas with his family (eating again of course), then the day after Christmas I will take a 5 hour drive up to my step grandparents, so my brother can see his family, the next day I will drive back home to do CHristmas with my best friend and her family.
Then I will rest for a week or so :)

Mine will be a bit simple. I don't have much planned, but I plan to cook some dishes for a friend of mine who don't have much; that much I will do for him. Then, I'll get that to him on Christmas Eve so that will last him a bit. On Christmas, more than likely, I'll hit some good friends of ours that switch up for Christmas and thanksgiving and we'll be over there. I look forward to that. I'm glad I'm here for Christmas, but with me not working and no income at all, I don't feel the greatest.

My Christmas is simple. Stay home and eat good food.
I guess I´m lucky not having as much complications as yours.
I hope you have a very happy Christmas and overcome these complications. =]

I will get a Cd of the church services, but it is not the same. I would rather have been there, but this time I cannot help it.

The weather is what determines what we will be doing, It looks like it's going to be bad so we will stay home. We are planing dinner for all who can get here, if they don't we'll have left overs. When we're home we often rent a movie and make popcorn.
Church is for Christmas Eve for us.

WE always have our Christmas progams at church the Sunday before Christmas. We do not hold church services on Christmas Day. Sometime other churches will invite us (the church) to their church if they are having a progam or service on Christmas Day.
I am going to my daughter Christmas Day, that is where the family will be gathering this Christmas. By night fall I expect to be back home snug as a bug in a rug.

We had the Lord's Day celebration and there was a baptism in the afternoon. (Baby was born on the Sunday before that. Would you believe that luck? I bet if the mother would have been able, they would have driven to the church right then. ) So we did not have any Christmas singing on Sunday. So I will be really missing that. And since my daughter-in=law is Roman Catholic, and they have early Christmas Mass, I guess I am stuck out of the Christmas Church services for this year. I know I will be getting a Cd, but it is not the same.

It does not seem very good for you does it,a bit unfair your husband has mobilty probems and you have enough to do.Why don't you just come clean and say you cannot manage to do what they want,It is not your fault your daughter in laws parents are divorced in that case they should do the running around, and you won't get your dinner till the evening and you will have to miss your church.I would not do it and tell them so,it is too much for you, supposeing it is cold and wet,no don't do it stay at home and if they can manage it let them come to you.all the best and merry christmas suzzy.x

That is the trouble. I do not know if my husband is going to be around that long. He is getting weaker, and it might be that sooner or later, he will have a massive stroke and die. I do not want to miss Church services and I do not know if that is included in the admonision of services you cannot miss and we will still be in the city. If they lived outside the city or in another province, then I would have the excuse that I will be unable to attend because of distance. Then there is my granddaughter that I hardly see except on birthdays, and holidays. so it looks like I am stuck. If they had said come around noon, then we could make it, but they are going out afterwards to their other relatives.

Well I guess its sorta of staying home for me.
I live just downstairs from my parents.
My parents still hold our family christmas.
So the kids and I go upstairs later in the morning/early afternoon to grandma and grandpas( my parents) when my brother and sister in law come out with their kids.

Well, For the actual day I am thinking I am staying home but with my family one never knows. We are having a Christmas Eve Dinner at my house again this year. So I will be stuck cooking for the next several days in preparation for it. But I am going to try to set enough aside so me and my hubby will have enough on Christmas day to have a special dinner at home. It is tough when parents divorce and everything has to be split up like that.

A big family drama unfolded in my husband family. So, we are not going anywhere for Christmas but staying hom. It will be myself, husband and our three kids. I will be making a big dinner that will last all day long. Other than that. WE will be doing nothing but enjoying with each other. MY family live out of state. So, that is not an option at this time.

We always stay home for Christmas. We were supposed to go out of town this year but unfortunately, we had to cancel our plans because my brother has a flight early on the 26th. And since we won't be complete anymore, my mom decided to just stay home again as usual. Our Christmas is more boring and relaxed than confusing, fortunately.

I am planning to stay at home only this christmas. Would be going out for prayers in the evening. I hope to enjoy the christmas as much as I can this time. This is going to be a very special and very different christmas.

I have many options on what I could do but I think I'm going to spend the morning into lunch time with my family. Then my girlfriend and I will probably go out to a Christmas party. Going to church isn't a bad idea either. I really hope this years christmas is different from last years. Last years was rather boring.
