When I first started to work and would compain about something that happened in the workplace, my father would always say "That's why they call it work, if it was fun they would call it something else."
I have always remembered that saying and use it. What are your favorite sayings that you use all the time?

Hi! Here's one of my favorite sayings:
"Are you here to solve the problem, or are you the problem?"
This was posted in the room of a boss in one of the offices that I worked for in my younger days. The stark simplicity of the poster added to the impact and depth of the message.
I have since modified that line for my personal reminder: "Are you here to help solve the problem, or are you part of the problem?"
Happy mylotting!

One of my favorites comes from my mother. She used to always say, "Pretty is as pretty does". Another favorite comes from the biggest loser theme song. It is; "What have you done today to make you feel proud". I love these two and find them very helpful in my everday life.

well, the one i seem to use most often is "beggars can't be choosers." lol it is so true! but for some reason i also really like "an ouce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." i think that is right... lol i don't even really know what it means, but it is in one of my favorite country songs and it just sounds neat. lol

Hi hooklady. I perhaps am one person who live by the maxims. These sayings are my constant reminders of how to live my life as a human being. The Golden Rule comes to mind, "Do not do unto others what you do not want to be done unto you." It is Chinese philosophy, Confucius if I am not mistaken. But that saying is also all over the Christian Bible and the Koran (I have not read this, learned only from discussions). I have a personal one that I keep in mind. It goes like this - "At the end of the day, it is just between me and my God."
