Do you send more friend requests than you receive or vice versa?

I was thinking about this the other day as I had received several friend requests within a short period of time and I was impressed with a members comments, so I decided to send out a friend request to that member. I receive more friend requests than I send out myself, but I find that gaining friends either way is great. Sometimes the member that I am thinking about sending a friend request to, beats me to the punch and sends me a friend request first. I have received friend requests from members who I didn't notice on the boards before, but after becoming friends, their posts are then flagged for my attention and I notice that their discussions are quite interesting. Do you receive more friend requests than you send or is it the other way around for you? Why do you decide to send a friendship invitation and why to you accept friendship requests?

I receive many more than I send. Most of those I receive recently are from newer users and I wonder why they rush to request before really getting to know me. I accept requests if I feel I have something, anything, in common with the person who sent it and sometimes it takes a while before I accept as I am not always aware of the person sending it. I request when I see a user contributing with things of interest to me or because of the manner in which they post. One will be coming your way soon unless you beat me to it Have fun and happy posting!

No problem. Well, we both knew that it would happen sooner or later. That's the thing with being active/busy, you're always pushing things back or putting them off until later.

For me, it is definately more people requesting to be my friend that I requesting to be theirs. I have been a member here for a long time now, and have people always wanting me to add them as a friend. Personally I feel this is a Great way to get to know others here, and like you said, this is an interesting way to find some of the different types of discussions on here as well. Personally for the most part this is a Great way to get to know them a little more as well.

Hey bayernfan, The day i joined in mylot i found out that to get in a lot of replies for your discussions you first need to have a lot of friends and to have lots of questions coming in your way you need to have a lot of friends and then at last you need to have them to really ssoth you and to really help you in real life..so i send in a lot of friends request to all and when i get in these request i accept them immediately..happy mylotting...
