I just wanted to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! My family are going to do something different this year and instead of having the huge traditional christmas sit down dinner at home we are going to go to the Zoo and have a picnic and I am really looking forward to it... I love Christmas and look forward to it. I know that alot of people don't celebrate Christmas, different cultures and beliefs so what about you? Do you look forward to celebrating Christmas and spending the day with you loved ones like your family and your close friends?

Though we don't celebrate Christmas, we are going to celebrate New Year. We'll do it simple and memorable with my loved ones. A picnic is a very good way to celebrate it. Wishing you happy holidays with your family.

I will be spending ALL that day with family (a bunch of em!)! we usually go to my husband's family and eat till we are ready to pop.. only to go right to my family's house where mom gets all ticked off if we don't eat MORE... so then we wobble home and spend the night miserable from being over-fed, over familied... and just praying to die. Merry Christmas!

Happy Christmas to you too. Of course, in Australia, you can go to the Zoo and have picnics! Up here in the UK we could, too, I suppose. At least a 'cold collation' is traditional for Boxing Day (but we usually have it indoors, LOL). As a matter of fact, I have always thought that it would be sensible to have a barbecue on Boxing Day - that's the day after Christmas Day, in case you were wondering. My reasoning goes: Q: What is a barbecue? A: It's when you light a fire and sit around it waiting for the food to cook Q: Why do most people have a barbecue when it's blazing hot and the last thing you want to do is sit round a fire? A: Hmmmm ... the smoke keeps the mozzies away? Q: When would it be good to sit round a fire waiting for food to cook? A: I guess when it's cold but bright and you have an occasion to do so, like a holiday or family or friends round. I know ... why don't we have a barbecue on Boxing Day, when it's very often sunny but cold. Everyone could have a warm up and be jolly!

Yeah we have boxing day here too and that is when you go out shopping for all the boxing day sales and get some really good specials but honestly after all the excitement of xmas day who wants to go out, you just want to sit around and relax and be lazy the next day

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too. Going to the zoo and having a picnic on Christmas is something nice to do with the family. I don't think our local zoo will be open on Christmas. For Christmas me and my family will attend Christmas worship service on Christmas morning. When we get back, me and my siblings will be cooking Christmas dinner and we will open gifts before eating.

I would love to come on your picknic with you at the zoo. The zoo is close for us and it is to cold for us to go here in the part of CA that I am at. I hope you had a great day.

Hi msmell! Wish you too a Very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We belong to a different religion and so don't celebrate Christmas but believe in it because we believe in God. We are having Christmas Eve party at our club tomorrow evening. We also put stockings and Santa(mom and dad) fill it with goodies. That's it for us. Yes,last but not the least.... just waiting for the heady aroma of the freshly baked rich cake that Mom's gonna bake it.

Yeah my ex-hubby's family didn't celebrate Christmas either because of their religion but the parent's didn't force it onto their children and let them make up their own minds as to whether they wanted to follow them into the church or not and none of the children did and now that they are all grow and have children of their own they all get together for xmas tea without the parents of course. Hope you had a good xmas eve at your club and enjoy the aroma of that cake I bet it just smells so good

Hi Msmell, A very Happy Christmas to you and yours also. I usually look forward to Christmas from about September but have been a bit of a late starter in getting excited this year but am having the traditional Christmas Day at home with the children which I love. I hope you enjoy your picnic at the zoo. Seasons Greeetings and huggles. Ellie :D

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to you and your family as well. I think that your holiday will be wonderful, I bet the zoo is done up really pretty. Here it is too cold and way too snowy. We are doing the traditional thing this year, but then going to a warmer climate for a few days after Christmas.

hahaha isn't it funny how when you live in a type of climate you wish you had the other! Like we always say we wish we could have a white Christmas but its too hot here to snow and people in other parts of the world where it is cold and snows on Christmas would like to have nice warm weather on the day... LOL guess no one is ever happy with what they have ha......
