Did I tell you I got a promotion?

Starting January 5 I will be a program co coordinator. Three positions were open, but I was the only in house employee given the job. It is with the same group of ladies I have worked with from the beginning, but now I will be a supervisor. I will be doing some of the same things I always have. It is a salary position.

Congratulations on the promotion. I remember you saying that your supervisor had gotten another positition and that you had applied for hers, I am just learning that you did get the promotion. Good work and God bless you in your new position.

They took much longer to decide than was anticipated. I am starting my computer based training tomorrow afternoon. The nice thing is that I will not need as much "in house" training, because I am familiar with the program books and the person centered care plans and medications for the ladies I will be working with.

I will work days, but also will have some on call time. Every other Saturday as well. If I work Saturday I will have Friday off, though.

What a gift, but I do not know any songs about it. I like my eleventh day gift.

Congratulations! Good for you!
I subbed 8 days in December. I will be taking a Census test next week.
I think 2009 will be a much better year for me and it sounds like it will be for you, too. Take care

Have you ever looked into working for an inventory company? Around here it is called RGIS and I think you can find them online. I hope you get all the work you need.

I tried that. But something else came up. Thank goodness. The inventoring was standing on cement all day and I was supposed to memorize and be a certain speed on a number key pad. I think I'll be alright. The other inventoring was sub-contracted under temp services. I did that for awhile, but the job ran out after a few days. Take care and thanks. I think I will be alright. If I don't get enough subbing at one school, I'll add 2 more schools to my list. I've found if you sub for the right three schools, you work almost all the time, I just have to pick the right three. I just need to make enough extra money to put away for the summer months, too. Thanks and take care.

That's wonderful GG!! Good for you!! Wow! How does your colleague's feel about that? I hope they're all happy for you and not jealous. The reason I say that is because, I was working a job and got promoted but some of my colleague's were so green with envy that they gave me a hard time. It's not easy being a boss and especially so when on the same level as the rest of them and then getting promoted. I do wish you the best GG for you deserve it!

Most of the staff under me will be okay with it. I have one who will probably have issues with me being more authoritative. I will expect her to meet the standards others do, imagine that. They are all high school and college students who would not be eligible for it. One person, at least, who applied will have issues, not because it was me, but because she wanted this position, and really was not considered. Most of the people who are equal to me are thrilled, because they already know I am a team player and will share well with others. LOL. It does not hurt that I got the promotion because the person in this position got a promotion.

Hello, GG!
Congratulations! What a way to start the new year, eh? 2009 has already started full of success for you! I hope it keeps like that until the very last day of the year. You will probably grow a lot in where you work. May this promotion not be the last of the year, but only the first of the lot more that are still to come in 2009!
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Wahoo, Gerty, no you did not. Congratulations, and what a wonderful Christmas present. More work, more hours, more responsibility for relatively less pay, I suppose, when it averages out, but this is a wonderful opportunity and certainly shores up your position. Good job!

I am one of those people who takes on responsibility whether it is mine or not. Now I at least do have the opportunity to "encourage" good work ethics in my evening staff, and the pay increase actually is pretty satisfactory. I will be on call for five programs one week out of every five, with a pager. It will be okay. Often it is just for minor questions.

Congratulations on your promotion. Especially the way the economy is these days there won't be many people receiving promotions and just thankful to have a job. So again Congrats.
