Are we as important as we think we are?

Human beings seem to believe they are kings of the universe. But if a giant looked at us from space, he could see no more than what we see when we look at an ant hill. Are we really as important as we think? What is our place in the universe? From our point of view, we are great, we are intelligent, we have achieved a lot, etc. But the other species have their own intelligence and maybe if we could understand their language, they would tell us they think they are the most important. Is it right or wrong to take our point of view as the reference point for the truth?

While we're occasionally described as tiny ants, indistinguishable from one another and, in the scheme of things, fairly useless, there are other ways to look at it. We are indeed all that important. The entire Universe revolves around me. And you. The part that revolves around me is all that I can apprehend, as is the part that is yours. We love and ar loved. We think and create and serve God. We do al we can to make our little corner of the Universe the best it can be. What more would anyone want?

I agree with you, it all depends on the way you look at it. I can understand your point of view and it is a good way of seeing things. I like your optimism and your positive thinking. After all, our life is what we make of it and we are what we believe we are, at least in "our little corner of the universe". Maybe to us it doesn't really matter what we are in the grand scheme of things. It's just me being nosey like usual :))

Wee creatures that we are, the whole scheme of things is far too vast for us to comprehend. Steven Hawking might be an exception, but most of us are just the centers of our own Universes. Don't know about you, but I'm pretty happy to let that be it!

I've thought about that a lot. We really are just a mere speck on the continuum of time. All species have their own intelligence. I've often thought that about our pets. My dogs and cats can understand some of the things that I say to them, yet I can't understand a word of their language.

Human beings are kings of the universe. I never believe in gaints and when I do see one then I will believe. I wonder what those giants look like.

wa are not that important but at the same time, we are also important. it is really depends on which point of view we use. and i think seeing things from many point of view is good. so that we don't overconfident and yet still confident enough that we all are made for some reasons with a role to play :D

Importance is something that one needs and one wants and it is nice that even if we are sometimes given least importance, we still are important for that matter. As for myself, I don't consider myself a queen for being a human being because I know that someone greater is there. But despite of the possibility or maybe the fact that someone greater than us is out there, I am still happy even with the little importance given to me here.

Yes we are important but not much important as we think. But other species
are also important which i think balance this earth and its environment. They
own communication media as we have , they have own distinguish features in their
communication, food havit as we have.In some area they are even better than us as we
all know that a pet like dog never cheat with his owner.
