What methods do you use to separate legit sites from the scams?

We all have our own barometer when it comes to judging what sites are legit and what sites are most likely scams. What are some of the methods or means you use to find and confirm the more legitimate opportunities?

ishuvo Personally before joining a program I try to make some search on google in order to know what others are saying about that program who already joined there.

ishuvo As i am a new guy i spend a lot of time every day infront of computer.I use my computer from 6 am to 12:30 pm and then 2:00 pm to 4 pm and 8 pm to 1:00 am.So overall i spend almost 13-14 hours eveyday infront of my computer.
