horror and thriller has been mostly dominated these days by gore movies like saw series, hostel, etc which has lots and lots of blood and similar things. Do you like these kind of movies or the traditional horror movies which involve ghosts and other supernatural stories?

Oooh, neither. I hate to be scared. Give me a good drama, comedy, suspense thriller, animated or 3-D and more, and I'm happy as a pig in mud!
Now my girls love horror and gore, but aren't those the same? And they wonder why they have nightmares!

I love scary movies. I have an older brother so I was pretty much raised on scary movies. My mom hates them, but for me the scarier the better.

I pretty much hate the slasher genre of horror. Unfortunately a lot of the "based on actual events" movies fall into this category - Hostel, The Hills Have Eyes - so I don't watch them. They just don't do anything for me.
I prefer the more traditional movies. I like supernatural stories like Firestarter, Christine and I like the psychological horrors like Seven, Saw (the original, after that they just get bloody for the sake of being bloody). I love ghost stories where the ghost turns out to be a ghost in the end, instead of a deranged lunatic out for revenge, posing as a ghost, terrorizing campers
