I live in a city alone on a rented house. I used to take my food on restaurants, but somedays back i suffered from acute acid peptic disorder. On doctor's advice I have started cooking at home for myself. And i think I am a good cook...at least i enjoy the food i prepare. Its a great feeling to prepare food for yourself & exciting too.Yes it takes a little time from ur schedule ,but thats ok if it offers good health. Have u ever cooked for yourself? what do u think of urself as a cook ??

I do not always cook for myself but occasionally I do cook things for myself. I guess I never cook anything huge or very elaborate but I'm able to cook rather basic things and just do what I have to do. I know I could stand to learn more basics about cooking but right now I guess it's not so necessary.

I never cooked before marriage. Few days before my marriage, my mom wrote almost all the recipes whatever she cooks in a book and presented me. That was really a wonderful gift from my mom. After marriage, came to a different country accompanying my husband with no knowledge of cooking. You believe it or not! since the day I started cooking, my husband liked my cooking. After his marriage, he has never been to restaurant. My friends and relatives too enjoy my delicious dishes. And now, when my husband is out of town, I enjoy cooking for myself. I love to cook always and forever.........also good for health.

Dear friend,
When I was in college I used to stay in college hostel then I used to cook myself even though I am not cook I love to have my own food as there where no good restaurants and mostly the mess was food I do not like. I actually learned and started to cook from there. Even now whenever I am alone at I do some cooking experiments and most of it were success.

I don't cook for myself often. I don't have time and I'm not a very good cook. I too have acid reflux problems. I should definately consider cooking at home. DO you have any other advice for dealing with acute acid peptic disorder?

I love to cook. I would say that my husband and I eat more at home then we do eat out. I like to cook, I like the food I make, as does he. I don't cook for just me though. If he is going to be home late from work, I usually will just eat a bowl of Frosted Mini-wheats cereal instead of cooking for just me. I am not a huge fan of leftovers, so I find it more work to cook for 1 person then for 2-4 people. But if I am the only one who is going to be home to eat, the food that is left over is usually a waste.

I cook as a last resort and find that I feel a sense of achievement when I see the produce of my cooking. Is this just me, or is there others that also experiance this unexplainable feeling?

I have always cooked for myself and for others. Growing up my mom worked anywhere from 1 to 3 jobs so I cooked for me, my brother and her.
When I was 18 I got married and have been cooking ever since. I have cooked for as many as 13 people. Now it is 6 plus me that I cook for.
My family and friends love my cooking as it is all from scratch just about. Rarely will we have something from a box, can or jar.

hi uditpanda, my dear friend, i think i am a quite a good cook and i enjoy cooking but i have hardly cooked for myself, i mean when i am totally alone. but as per your case, it is very different. i was never alone like thatt. i never stayed totally alone.i was having some or the other with me. after marriage now i am having my hubby a kiddo and my in-laws. if they are out and i am just with my kiddo, i cook for her but skip my meal. i rather take a cup of coffee with biscuits or rusk or something but i have never remembered preparing a full fledged meal for myself , alone, never. i make when i am with my hubby. i loves to have different varieties and i love cooking. infact my in-laws are big food lovers. they love to have to have variety of dishes.
when a person is staying alone like you and you know that there will be noo ne and you have to be sit alone and eat , then i think i will always cook for myself rather than go out amnd eat. i am quite particular about what i eat, and how healthy it is. so i will cook if that is the situation.

I think it's a kind of pleasure to cook for myself. But I don't actually cook because I'm not good at cooking expect fast dumplings and noodles. My mother onced taught me the method of cooking, but I do not have enough time to practise. Recently, I'm also thinking of cooking for myself because I'm moving to the rented house alone. Maybe I'll try it.

I am the cook in the house. My husband knows how to cook but I am always the one that does the chore. I don't cook fancy at all. It is just simple dishes I make. My husband doesn't mind so it is not a big deal. I also don't mind cooking since it is for my honey and also he is very easy to please.

hi my dear friends, yes , I do cook for myself but not very often. Sometimes, when I want a higly nutrional made up of only vegetables , it is then I do cook. Since that food is tasteless and no body likes it, I cook by myself and eat by myself.

i also live alone in my country too.it's doesn't matter if you cooked for your self, you dont need to be shy.i eat on restaurant only in weekend,it will reduce your earns.usually i cooked the simple, healty food and quick to deserve.if you dont have a much time,u can pay somebody to cook for u at you home..but it just only pay for cook ,not the other things.
