myLot should let us pick our favorite discussions

OK. You'll say I should've just used the myLot contact form for suggestions. But would just like to know if you like my idea too. I am suggesting that there should be an option for myLotters to pick discussions as favorites. With thousands of thousands of discussions pouring in everyday, it would really great if we could mark our favorites and keep it in our profile pages so we can visit it anytime we want. It would also keep us updated on the comments and responses to our favorite discussions. What do you think?

This, and an ignore button, are the two things I would really like to see. At the moment finding discussions I am truly interested in requires a lot of time scrolling, or digging through my profile, and sometimes they get lost in the crowd. Of course one could copy the address bar of your favourites into a word doculment and check them out each day, which requires that you have cut and paste facility (or can type quickly lol), but that seems a lot of work. The ignore bar could be most useful. There have probably only been a dozen or so people I have come across who I would use it on, but they were capable, at times, of having me avoid a discussion just to keep my blood pressure normal. Hmm an ignore button sounds interesting although I am not sure I would use it. I would like to be able to keep access to favourite discussions though so that it was easy to go back to.

I don't think they would implement an ignore button though because I think it can be anti-social.

It's a great idea but I doubt it goes well with myLot's strategy. myLot encourages posting across topics. If you post in different topics, you earning might be higher.

I don't get this. What do you mean myLot encourages posting across topics? Well, I think you mean we should have a lot of interest we should post in. I don't think have favorite discussions will be contrary to that.

If you always post in the same interests, your earning would be relatively lower than if you post among lots of interests. As for how much- I don't know.

hi dear, i think that is a great idea however i think you do have an option. we all have an option to go to all the discussions we have had. we can also go to all the discussions you have started.

I think it is a little hard looking for a discussion you have responded to some months ago or even years ago. If we can mark those discussions then it would be easier to access them.

I think that is an excellent idea. I also would like the option, when opening new discussions, to find an easier way to find the type of discussion I want to put my post. I have to search through pages, sometimes, maybe an alphabetical list would help.

Actually I am saying we will mark a discussion we have read as our favorite, just to keep track of them. I don't think how it can help you to look for some discussions you like.

Although I have submitted suggestions in the past, myLot never seems to really consider and do anything about them. That is why I think discussions about myLot suggestions are great. I think this would be a great idea. I know I have bookmarked some discussions because they were so good or I liked them a lot. I think this would be a great way to organize our discussions as well. In addition, it could also add a "Top Favorite Discussions" section or something similar on the homepage.

Yes, that would be cool too. It would be cool to know that my discussions are one of the most favorite.

yes i totally agree with you, instead of that rating system they can allow us to pick our favourite discussions.i dont know how mylot chooses the top discussions as i cant understand as sometimes discussions with few responses also make the top of the list.so its not clear what yardsticks they have set to choose the top discussions.it would be of great help if they implement your suggestion,we will get a better insight here.

I'll give you some idea I have about top discussions. They don't actually depend on how many responses a discussion have. It actually depends on how many responses and comments combined a discussion have and how many it has received for the last hours. It is actually about being an active discussion.

I agree. Just today I read a post that was so profound and it was coming from the a person you would least expect it. I wrote in my response that I wished I could deem this post the best discussion. The closest we get to it is the Top discussion section. But just because many people respond to it doesn't make it the best.

I think that would be a great idea. I know there are some I would have liked to keep track of in the past but as far as I know there is no way unless you keep posting and there are even some I didn't post in I would have liked to follow.

That sounds good, but i dunno how it's gonna work?? Like u say, there are thousands and thousands of discussions coming in each day, and at any point of time, there will be better ones coming in with the latest update to it.. THus, what is gonna happen to those saved ones?? ANd there are ple suggesting of deleting discussions that are 2yrs old etc, so where is the limit to the post?? hehe

I think that is a very good idea. It would be nice to be able to go back to a discussion that you really liked. At the moment you can only do that by checking discussions you responded to and that can still take ages to find one that you want to revisit. I think having a button that will let you just have your favourites the same way as you have your friends discussions sounds great.

I'd say one of the best idea discussions you have here richiem. Good work. I think it's cool. Since there are thousands of discussions out there it's great if we could save some as our favorites. To put more sense about it, marking discussions as favorites makes it easier for us and even for our friends to find those discussions that interests us or them.

That would be great...I would love be kept updated in few of my favorite discussions but since its not possible I either have to search for it or look up in the person'd profile...That was a tedious effort and have stopped doing it now...Hope it works out..have a nice day!

I've sent a private message to myLot about it. I hope they would consider it.
