I used to do that when I was a kid, but not so much anymore. I did however, join in a couple years back at work, when we were allowed to go through our building to sing carols. That was fun and everyone really seemed to enjoy us doing that for them.

This sounds like something our Church does usually the Thursday night before Christmas. They have people who are interested get up and Sing a Christmas carole or two, and even some of the kids sing a song up there, or play an Instrument if they want too.

i still enjoy Christmas caroling because it is use by our church to go to the members of the church who are well off and use it for building fund raising or some projects of the church. Sometimes, we carol to the indigents and after singing with give them some food to eat or goods. They were amazed because they will not give to the carolers but they will just receive blessings from us!

Good one. We have done this one too. And it is always a blessing to see people's faces light up when you approach their house, and Christmas is a time for giving, so Great time to approach them for this.

I used to enjoy Christmas Caroling but I haven't gone in years. Maybe because as I got older my voice changed and I can't seem to sing nearly as well as I once did. My mother-in-law is in a nursing home and really enjoys it when groups come to perform musical programs including caroling.

I haven't been for several years, but when we lived in Marshalltown, our church used to go caroling every year at the Iowa Veteran's Home. It's a huge facility, and although some of us couldn't sing, we made a joyful noise that brought the residents to their doors to see what was happening, and sometimes to sing along.

Going Caroling especially to Nursing homes is a Fun memory for me as well. I remember doing it many times, and to see their faces light up and want to Sing with you is an awersome rush.

I don't get the chance to go Christmas caroling to much, but I would love to start doing it again. It's a wonderful feeling to sing for nursing homes and other places. It gets me in the mood to celebrate Jesus even more.

Our church traditionally goes every year, we went last night. Yes, we always do nursing homes and senior living facilities. We gather back at the church and each small group carols the kitchen before sitting down to yummy chili. Here is a twist on a carol verse that I learned from members of another church who caroled my nursing home--chorus of We Wish You a Merry Christmas--"Good tidings we bring, from Jesus the King, good tidings for Christmas, and a Happy new year.

Nowadays, children here in our country seems to have lost the value of carolling, they would sing nonsense and end their carols as soon as they receive the money. I enjoy carols from people who really practice and sings expressing their real emotions for Christmas.

Yes I love to go christmas caroling. Don't do it as much as when we lived in florida and I was a girl scout leader and took the girls out and we had fun. Makes a heart feel good when older people lite up cause you are doing something for them.

with the spanish national honor society at my school, we went to a nursing home & sang carols in spanish. I think the residents were kind of confused, so we mixed it up with some english too, haha. I think they really liked it, though. plus we brought them hand-made christmas cards!

I used to go all the time when I was a kid and I loved it. Of course back then you could just get a couple of kids together and go out alone. I'm not sure it's still safe to do that and that's a real shame. I also don't see people going house to house anymore, perhaps I'll try to get some friends together this year and go. We'll have to brush up on the words..LOL
