Do you initiate a conversation with someone you don't know?

I would talk to a handsome man or an older lady lol Other than that I'd smile and look my way. People are different and if they're easy to talk to,why not?

well, for me it depends. I would have to see if the person is approachable. I want to start a conversation with the strangers but if they look TIGER? OR LION look? hahaha I don;t want to start they might get upset or they don't want to be disturb. So for me, it needs timing. And it depends also upon the attitude or the mood of the person. Yes, talking to children is better because you can tell them silly stories that kids really like to listen. Or ask them childish question that they love to answer and it is fun to talk to kids.

that really depends on my mood and the appearance of the person... i don't really dare talking to strangers as i am afraid that i will be talking to a bad person... most of the time, i just keep quiet when i am traveling and other people start talking to me... take care and have a nice day...

yes i do. i do it now in some forum.i dont know her neither her too.we just talk as an old friend.we discuss anything in this life until personal thing.its no problem between me n her as long as we stay in our track of the conversation.now,its depend on you,are you an open minded or not??to start conversation is not must with the older people but also with everybody that 'connect' with us.

It really depends on the situation and the mood I'm in, haha. But more often than not I don't usually initiate. If I'm on the bus or train or plane or anything like that I don't normally initiate but I leave myself open for conversation if the person next to me wishes to do so. I don't have the headphones or a cellphone blocking my ears nor am I staring off into space at a laptop or portable DVD player or anything like that. I don't do those things for other, and what I consider to be more important, reasons that just meeting people but it does help.

Hello Masmasika! I do initiate a conversation with people I do not really know. Yeah, with strangers. But of course, it all depends on the situation. More often than not, it depends on why I need to initiate a conversation. For instance, I am in this place where I really do not know anyone and I believe that I will be staying there for over an hour. I don't think that I will be able to stand not talking within that period especially if I also do not have anyone to call or send SMS to. Sometimes, I am sent on an out-of-town seminar and more often than not, our company just sends one representative for these activities. I do not want to spend the rest of the day or the duration of the seminar (which sometimes takes a couple of days) not being able to talk to someone. These are just some instances when I initiate a conversation with someone I do not know.

occasionally, i do. but not to total strangers. if they look familiar, i do say hello and ask them "have we met before?". most of the time the answer is "no" but that's actually a good start for a conversation. it might be awkward though but sometimes it works.

At times yes i do initiate but I respond well if somebody else also initiates.I dont fear getting swindled and am not that careful however a swindler can be understood i guess.I dont do partiality even though i dont initiate usually while talking to women but i am not at all partial to women,men,young,or old.however am comfortable with someone my age.
