Good Web Site For Writers Where You May Be Able To Sell Work Yourself

With the Internet available to so many people now there are loads of ways for writers to get published instantly. However, this web site at www.youpublish.com will let you upload any file and you can offer your work for free, so others can read, or, if you like and if you think you have a suitable project for sale, you can decide to charge for your uploaded work. People usually provide a sample of the content provided, then charge anywhere from $1 to $20 and up for the rest, depending on whether it's an article or e-book, etc. I did upload some of my own files there and the support I got from the people who put the site together was very good.
They seem to be a relatively new site, though, and doesn't look like they pay via Pay Pal, but only with check. I think how it works is you charge what you want for your work and then if someone buys your work they send you the check, rather than the buyer paying you directly. I'm guessing there is some kind of commission involved but I'm not totally sure about that. And I'm not sure if they're open to only U.S. citizens or not. Since they pay only by check, for now, they may be open only to U.S.
One thing, you can upload any file but if you upload a document file (like a word processing file from Microsoft Word) or something, when the viewer sees your work on youpublish it will just say download this file. A lot of people, seeing this message, won't download an unknown file. So, before uploading here, you will want to change your files to PDF files for instant viewing on this web site. This is really easy to do (I can do it and I'm the world's worst at figuring out computers.)
If you would like more information about this, I've written a detailed article on how to upload files to this site on ehow.com. I can't paste the link here because I don't have enough numbers beside my user I.D. here (you have to have at least 500 to avoid spam via mylot's rules), but you can click on my web site at my profile page here (web site is http://seekthetreasure.tripod.com), scroll halfway down my web site and click on the link that starts with How To Get Writing Published Instantly and that will take you straight to the ehow article about this.
I haven't really offered any of my files for sale on youpublish, I only put a few short free ones on there originally mainly to advertise a book I'm putting together and to see how the site worked, so not sure how many people actually sell their work there, but loads of people on there seem to be offering their ebooks and what have you for sale, so it's an interesting site that you might want to check out as a writer.

I write for Associated Content, that being said, I took a look at the youpublish site and it looked very interesting. I am going to read the particulars of the site before I post anything to them. I am rather picky, lol. I don't want my work being plagerized by anyone else. I also am unsure about being paid by check vs. paypal. I don't want a check bouncing on me. It looks like a great site though and I am glad you shared it.
