I'm sure there are those who did not sleep on new year's eve. Probable reasons are because of too much party, singing, dancing and eating while waiting for the clock to strike at 12 midnight. And also, the streets are very noisy at 12 midnight. Noise are everywhere.. and this is common int he Philippines. Most people sleep during the day.. January 1 because they have no sleep on the eve of 31st.
Well, in the place where I am now? very ordinary night.. same as usual.. no noise, no party, no eating. hahahaha.. I usually sleep at past 12 so no new here. Happy new year.

I did sleep for 3 hours after the new year's celebrations. I am staying near a beach and we have "beach tourism festival" on our beach started on 22th december and end on the new year eve with fireworks.

Hello Bebs. I went to sleep on New Year's Eve as usual at around eleven. If I stay up too late, I will not be able to enjoy myself the next day. So I don't stay up so as not to spoil my new day. But if it is our lunar New Year's Eve, I usually stay up till the entertainment on Channel CCTV 1 is over after twelve when we welcome the new year.

Hey bebs! I am in NY where we still have 1 more hour until
midnight! Then it will be "on and poppin" as my boyfriend
would say! It is a very cold and windy night here in NY and
there will still be lots of crazy people filling Times Square
in Manhattan to watch that ball go down to ring in the
start of 2009! I will watch it from my apartment on the TV!
I live about 45 minutes by car from Manhattan! But, I would
never be there with 1 million insane people crowding into
a space in the middle of Manhattan! So, I will wish you a
very Happy New Year and get ready to see 2008 out and 2009
in!

Oh really? so we have the same time here in North Carolina. I really love to visit that place Manhattan!!! But I heard from my hubby that NY had many bad people. You are right!! better stay in your house.. you will be safe than going to the place with crazy people. I will just read the news tomorrow about what will happen in Manhattan.
Have blessed new year.

well, i didn't sleep on new years eve, not because of too much party or singing and dancing.. i was waiting for my mom to come home from the midnight mass and i was watching Naruto hehehhe.
And yeah, it was really noisy, we kinda live in a place far from the town area, but the noise from the town center can be heard all the way here. but of course, it is to be expected on New Years Eve.
Cheers!

I stayed up and watched it turn to 12 midnight and then I went to bed. I didn't do anything either, I did go to a rock concert earlier that night so I guess I did do something exciting.

I did not sleep on New Year's Eve. I was busy most of the day until well into the evening, and I didn't even get to party lol. I think I finally went to bed around 6:30 AM... I didn't go to sleep though. I got about 3 or 4 hours of sleep so it may be an earlier evening tonight.

There was no sleeping til well after the ball dropped here and people got to settleing down here.
I knew from the beginning it was going to be a no go in that dept. lol so I did
everything I possibly could just to stay awake from watching tv, drinking coffee,
opening the slider door to get cold air on me, playing on my forums on the computer,
then watching kids set off fire works. It wasn't til after 2-2:30am did things start mellowing out here in my apartment complex area between all the 8 buildings here.
I do hope everyone had a great night and has a good new year.

Well, I did have a lot of trouble sleeping new years eve but it wasn't due to noise. I kept thinking back on the year and I couldn't help it or stop it and it was driving me nuts!! I have this fear that this year will be the same as the last and the scariest thing of all is the fact that I had little to no control over what happened over the year so there really isn't much I can do to ensure my year is better this time. Anybody else feel the same?

Oh!! that is terrible. why? what happened the previous year? is there anything very traumatic? Well, i have full of hopes that this year will be a better one for me. I will try to improve what I was not able to do last year. I don;t want to stay the same. I want real improvement.

Happy new year to you to. :)
Well, I usually wait till 12:00 but than there is always something that keeps me going until 3 or 4:00. Like some interesting shows on TV or my computer. I can imagine better things that I could do but its the way I usually spent my time in the first few hours of a new year. :)
For example, this time I was playing one of my favorite games until 4:00 with a few friends from all over the world. Kinda funny when one half of us is still in 2008 and the others already are in 2009... heh :)
So have a fun year.

hahaha!!! that's right!! half of the people in the world are already celebrating the new year while the others are still waiting for the hours to celebrate. Like my sister, they are having party already while me, in my place still on my online thing waiting for the time.

Hi there, I didnt get a very good sleep last night either. In fact I kind of woke up at about 3am, really confused! I got out of bed as I was sure I could hear something happening, but then realised everything was okay!
A very strange and unsettled night for me! I went straight back to sleep and then was in and out of sleep for the next few hours. I will probably have a quick nap later...

I everyday sleep before midnight but last night kept awake till way after midnight because my kids like to be awake every year to welcome the new year. But I cannot be awake too long as I have to be in office the next day. Just now I am in office posting this reply.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND ALL AROUND YOU

I didn't sleep because I simply couldn't. I didn't drink nor eat too much. I didn't party or dance. I just can't sleep. May be the strong coffee, but I doubt it. I'm also really psyched by this great community. Anyway, sometimes you realize that sleeping is nothing more than a waste of time (Leonardo Da Vinci).
