ME, I'm mylotting. I planned to have a three-day visit on my parents in-law with my wife this morning, but my dean phoned me to do some interpreting work for some headteachers from UK, and I decided to stay with them for just one day, but my wife insisted on staying for 4 days at her mom's home, and the result is my wife went to her mom and dad's house alone, and I am left alone in my own flat mylotting, and watching some movies. Hey, what are you doing now on this very first day of the new year 2009?

We have 18 minutes until the New Year where I am in the USA. I will be going to bed pretty soon. Tomorrow, I'll probably eat, relax, compute - just whatever comes to mind. Haven't planned any thing. I bought groceries today, getting ready to watch all the ball games that will come on in the next few days. I may go visit my Mother, according to how I feel tomorrow.

Well, the new year 2009 is approaching you, my Barb42, and happy new year to you and all the USA friends. actually, the first day of the new year is just another day and an ordinary day for most of us. by the way, i just finished watching the NBA match between Rockets and Bucks. Rockets ring with the new year win.

You are right. Today is just another day in God's plan. It just seems to be a custom every where to ring in the New Year with loud noise and fireworks. And there were certainly some pretty ones they showed on television yesterday. The first one I saw was from New Zealand early in the morning. So they are already over into the 2nd day of 2009. As for me, I ate left-over pizza for lunch, having chili for supper, and now watching Georgia and Michigan playing football in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida. I thought that the Georgia Bulldogs would be way ahead, but both teams seem to be a good match - 3 to 3, at the moment.

YOU are gonna doing some house cleaning work? LOL you are lucky that you can have the time and chance to go to your in-law's house, I planned to go to my in-laws' house, but i didn't manage to do so. anyway, my best wishes go to you and your family and your in-laws.

I cuddled some of the morning with a friend and stuff... 
and tried to recover from the night before.. we had all went out drinking and got way waster then i had planned but it was so much fun. then after i finally got home today i just sat around all day and walked my dog a couple of times. didn't do anything else though i was too tired

Why? don't you have a day off during the new year holiday? or you are doing some extra work to earn more, you know in China, if we work on the official hodidays, we can have a double or triple payment, anyway, my best wishes to you and your family, my lady.

We had a happy but tiring day yesterday celebrating the New Year's Eve and we stayed awake till two in the morning. Today I think we'll just rest this afternoon and just think if we will choose to go out late this afternoon. I am in the mood for some writing because I had a good rest till this morning. I just had taken the shower with my kids and feel fresh and cool. As I am mylotting, I am eating the egg sandwich given by my mother in law and a mango cream refrigerator cake also done by my mom. So cozy. I hope the whole year of 2009 will be like this, relaxed, inspiring, and sweet. I also wish you these things too.

Thanks for your new year wishes to me, and i guess you had a great and cozy family togetherness with your kids, your parents in law and all of your family members. i'm jealous of you in that you have had an egg sandwich, you know my stomache is still empty and nobody but me can cook for myself, and i wanna lazy day today. LOL

for me, i just stay at home sleeping, cleaning the house and cooking... i also do a bit of mylotting... after that, i went to church in the afternoon to attend a prayer meeting... then i went home for dinner, prepare lunch for the next day and went to bed after that... that's all... nothing really interesting... take care and have a nice day...

On this first day of 2009 I am struggling to stay off ciggies, I have currently gone 4 days, 20 hours and 29 mins and today I am fighting every inch of the way because it is really really hard and I have gone cold turkey which is worse so I am just hoping I can make it to five days.

oh, what a strange day... I'm sorry that you're at home alone!! today I have not done anything special... I woke up late, at 11.30 a.m, because yesterday I went to eat a great dinner and then I danced at disco...
I studied italian literature, have read a chapter of my Spanish book and learnt some russian words.. (I study foreign languages at university, and I use my lot also to practise my English)... then, I tidied my house up... now, I am about to have my dinner, because here in Italy it's 8.13.

Can you tell us how to say "happy new year" in both Italian and Spanish? i also studied foreign languages, like French (a little), English (my major), and Japanes (just know some words LOL), and i also come to mylot to practice my writing as an output in English. i also woke up late this morning, say, 10:30 a.m. LOL, what a lazy bird I am! happy new year and happy mylotting.

I'm glad I had the chance to do mylotting on the first day of 2009, hoping I could have the chance to visit this site everyday.

happy new year!
i am just taking my time, relaxing, watching dvd (marathon), eating, sleeping, eating and sleeping again! i love this vacation! time has been so great! the long vacation allowed me to all these things i seldom do. the rest of the year, i will have to focus and concentrate on my work loads, and that will be starting on january 5. so for now, i do all the things that pleases me! *wink*

Very good question to ask. My recieved a phone call a bit after 12am and talked to someone special for an hour. On the morning of New Years, I went with my sister to rockefellar center to take pictures and took a walk down the city. It was a bit too cold to go out but hey I am on my break. Mine as well do something for the new year.

The first day of 2009 has been great for me.
I spent it with two out of me three grandkids. We played ball, chutes and ladders, ate popcorn and watched kid movies.
They've gone home now, and I'm about to go next door and spend the evening with my Mom having dinner and watching a rented movie.
It's been just a fun relaxing day and a nice way to start a new year.

Happy New Years everyone!
I'm on MyLot leaving responses and checking to see if there are any responses to my previous comments. I'm also watching Trivial Pursuit America Plays lol. I'm probably not going to be doing anything else for today. Oh yea and I cleaned my room earlier this morning while talking to my boyfriend. That's about it so far for today though. I'm probably just going to be browsing the internet and watching TV for the rest of the day. I want to do something productive but at the same time I think I need to just do nothing for a while because I was so busy with school this past semester.

I'm also mylotting right now. I was out last night at a night club for new years so I got home late and woke up late. I hate waking up late! But that's what sleeping at 3 in the morning does to you.. I'm watching Talladega Nights on tv right now too. I don't know what else I'm going to do the rest of the day. Probably clean around the house or something, haha.

on my first day of 2009, i am going to have lunch with my friends. later we probably going to play some games, watching a movie and talk a little.but, the best part would be, that we are planning to have a snowball and we will have five people in each team. i will have dinner with my family later, tradition. then we all just going to watch a movie in a theatre. i believe we are going to watch night time story or marley and me.
