I came across this find on a place called thefindbuzz.com. It is a site that gathers links to blogs on items to shop for. One of the posts sais that Coby--who designs inexpensive electronics, is rumoured to be coming out with a mini computer for $100.00. Even it would be as fun as owning an E-Machine when they first came out, I could use it as desktops are causing too much clutter in my little place. If nothing else, it would be great for playing video games with while I'm on the other computer. I am multi-tasker, if you aven't notice, without broadband, just el-cheapo high speed access, that isn't always as fast as its cracked up to be, but it is still better than dtandard dial-up connection.
Anyhow, anyone heard about the mini computer? Do you know when Coby might start selling it? What would you think of a cheap computer like this?

I have not heard of it (or Coby to be honest), but the One Computer Per Child group were aiming for a $100 computer.
I would not be surprised if one did come out. SSC (Small Cheap Computers) are a big thing right now. Netbooks are doing rather well. This should drive down the price of Atom CPUs (and alikes).
I don't think it will run many games though. I would guess it would be based on the same tech that is in Netbooks and the graphics card that is in the current generation of Netbooks is rubbish. Really really rubbish.
