i am a firm believer of pare and positive thinking. i think that depression is a result of stress, and negative thinking. we all find our self in a state of depression from time to time, and yes i would agree that in some cause professional help is necessary. but in most cases i think is not a matter of overcoming depression but a matter of avoiding the state of depression. i say this because depression hardly creeps up on you most times you can see it coming. think positively more often and avoid over working your self and never forget to take time out for you and appreciate you

I too do not believe that those that are in a deep depression or suffer from other psychological problems can be helped by this simplistic method. It takes phychological help and/or medications to relieve certain types of depression. I'm not pushing the idea that medication cures all, but in some circumstances it is the only way to deal with the problem. However it should also be used in combination with therapy.
