New Year's Day--What Did You Do?

So now it is the day after New Years and I'm wondering how you all spent the day? Did you sleep in all day recovering from the big party the night before? Did you stay home and just chill? Watch the parades and football games on TV? Did you go out or to visit friends and relatives? We spent the day at home relaxing for the most part. I had a writing assignment to finish up and hubby watched TV most of the day. Nothing really exciting here! What did you do?

I am living and working outside of my home country kareng, so I just chilled on New Years Day really. My friends and family are all back home so there weren't really a lot of options available. I went up to the office for a few hours and then spent the rest of the day with my wife taking turns on the computer. We have both been obsessed with this "tap-tap" game on my phone too, so we have been having some fun bopping away to that as well! lol.

I know that feeling of family being so far away. Still you have each other and that is nice. You get to spend the time together and it is nice to spend the time with someone you love.
Hmm phone games can be addictive but they run the battery down so fast.
I hope you had a lovely new year James.

I was here on my computer on and off during the day and my hubby was watching TV. we watched the parade because we knew a few people in it. Well they never even announced one of the person in the parade and the marching band they just skimmed over them. I was so disappointed we could not see more of them.

Don't take it otherwise, I'm just feeling to be bit philosophical, but let's seen how long can I sustain it. Anyway, thanks and I wish same for you as well.

I got up at 5.30am and went to work... the temperature showed as minus 4 degrees... so... that was fun ! As it turned out, it was quite a good shift (even tho' the canteen was closed ... or maybe, given the standard of the food there BECAUSE the canteen was closed???) They let us go home about half an hour early so I called in to see my mum on the way. Then I had an early night so I could get up at 5.30am again today - I'm on the late shift tomorrow

I did pretty much nothing all day. I slept the morning away, got up and played on the computer for a few hours, and then ended up crawling back into bed. I didn't drink much more than a few sips of my niece's drink, so I wasn't hung over. But we didn't get home until after 3 am, so I was really tired.

I had the most perfect New Years Eve and New Years Day. I picked up the grandchildren New Years Eve in the afternoon and brought out to our place. Both my Grandchildren had a sleeo over at Grandmas. We made cookies New Years Eve and we made homeade buns New Years Day. What a perfect way to ring in the New Year!!!

i spent most of the day on the road driving home from my daughter's. it was a long 6 hours, since we had arrived at her house from texas at 3;00am new year's eve morning. we had been on the road two days for about 14 hours a day. so i was just glad to get home.

That's easy: I did my daily journals, played with my hobby for a while, did some Mylot, then mowed the lawns, had dinner and went to bed.
New Year's day is just another boring day in the life of a retired person.

Me & my Family spent our time from cooking & singing dancing in our house..
just like in a disco bar.. because of the loud speakers & some disco lights..
Our tradition after diet is to eat a lot of foods then diet again... aha
we share foods from our neighbors we chat from out friends...
& made a intermision number (dance) haha... then we did not sleep for 2 days!! eyebag!!

I was waiting for that moment to come. I wanted to watch the ball drop that is on television but someone special called me and made me miss it. But i had a fun time talking to this person I haven't talked to for a long time. He called me right before New year started. I went down to time sq and just walked around the city.

Wolfie stayed at home and chilled, he didn't get up till about 11, spent most of the day on the computer, although he watched a bit more tv than normal, Dr Who was on, a brand new episode, it was repeasted from Christmas Day, I couldn't watch it Christmas Day because it clashed with another programme and I don't have any way of recording it so I was glad they reran it again. I also watched a Bond film they had on terrestrial tv. Had mum's wonderful roast beef dinner and then read some of my book, my ideal sort of day! Happy new year my friend!

I was on the computer for a bit. I only can access the internet from my parent's house. Well, they took off to Tulsa, so I had their house to myself. So I caught up on a lot of computer stuff. I also ordered the new Pizza Hut Natural pizza (who really knows how much healthier it is?), and watched some of the marathon of The First 48 on the A&E channel. Fascinating, huh?

I did not do much at all yesterday. I was here on myLot for a little bit. I made some toffee, toffee popcorn and some pumpkin muffins yesterday morning, and I made my parents dinner last night. Other than that I pretty much bummed around the house.

My eldest daughter picked us up for a three day vacation in Makiling Highlands in Laguna. My husband and I celebrated New Year with my daughter's family. We have been doing this for three years now.I'm alwayslooking forward for this day to come.We enjoyed swimming even late at night in a private swimming pool.really exciting to see my young grandchildren learn how to swim.I love our bonding moments with the kids.It was a three day relaxation.Far from the noisy and polluted surrounding on New Years eve.We ate, sleep, swim and play with the kids.Hot springs in Laguna is very relaxing, you maybe wondering why we swim even late at night.
