Yes, you can eat frozen foods during pregnancy. I can't even imagine why you think there would be a problem with that. Frozen vegetables are often more nutritious than the fresh vegetables you buy in the grocery store because they were frozen immediately after picking and didn't have a chance to deteriorate. A lot of fresh vegetables are shipped thousands of miles before they get to you, and are losing nutritional value along the way.

If I'm not mistaken with her being from India she is probably more accustomed to getting food on a very regular basis at outdoor stalls where the food is almost always fresh or dried. Frozen foods may not be something she is accustomed to. Not all countries have food prepared the way we do.

Frozen or canned foods can be eaten during pregnancy, and will not harm the baby.
However, nutritionally speaking, I would learn to read the labels (particularly on prepared, processed frozen or canned foods). Sometimes there is too much sodium (salt), sugar, monosodium glutamate (MSG), or other food additives that are not too healthy for anyone in general.
Do check expiration dates. Do not refreeze any foods that have been thawed once before. Make sure cans are perfect (not dented or bulged) when you buy them as that can be an indicator that the food may be unsafe. Refrigerate any unused portions as soon as possible if you intend to eat it later on.
I prefer fresh whenever possible, but as a pregnant woman myself, I don't worry if I need to use frozen/canned items. The taste difference is another story . . .

Frozen foods are perfectly fine to eat, pregnant or not. They are often more convenient than fresh, at least for me they are. Just make sure you have a well balanced diet and you should be fine.
