My discussion was "reported"

I've never seen this happen before and I wasn't sure what it meant. As I was scrolling through the discussions I've started lately I noticed that one of them was tagged with "reported". I had no clue why someone would add that as a tag, so I hit on it and apparently someone has reported my discussion. I really don't know why, unless they only skimmed the topic and didn't really READ the discussion. The topic was a HEAVY topic, but the discussion was pretty much different than all the rest. Well, I'm sorry to those of you who were nice enough to respond, because now it's going to be deleted and we'll lose credits for it.
I've never seen that before, although I've had discussions deleted before.

I did a quite look at your discussions and I think I found the one you're mentioning and can't figure for the life of me why someone would report that discussion--was it the NYE one as I noticed the "reported" tag on that one. I've had some bizarre tags on my discussion and wondered who put them there

Yeah, that's it. If you go into the discussion though, reported does not show up as a tag, it's only on the listing that you see it.
The only reason I can think that someone reported it is because EVERYONE was starting discussions "What are you doing for New Years Eve?" And that's not really what my discussion was about...
Oh well, it's gotta happen sometimes... I just hope it's an isolated incident.

Thanks MSV1313 - but I don't think this was an actual tag. It shows up on the listing of all my discussions, but when you are in the discussion it doesn't show up at all.

People not paying attention to what they're doing/what is actually going on in a thread definitely stinks. I'm sorry that you'll lose credit for your post and the replies. :( Hopefully enough people will respond to this one to make up for it.
(and hopefully whoever reported your thread pays more attention from now on.)

Yeah, it is kinda a bummer, but it looks like it was an isolated incident (thank goodness!)

Just because it was reported does not necessarily mean it will be deleted. I am curious about your topic. I hope you are wrong, that it is reported, but the report is ignored.

Well, it's still there. I'd just never seen that happen before. I keep watching it and it's still there. Hopefully it'll stay because it was a good one and I'd hate for all those people to get their earnings taken away....

I have been so afraid of that! I know it's got to happen to me sooner or later, it's the law of averages... That's the only one (so far) though, so I think I'm ok... Maybe it was a mistake and they meant to hit plus and hit report???

It was about New Years Eve plans (or rather lack of). I'm sure that since there were millions of topics like that they didn't bother reading the discussion to see that it wasn't just mundane.

Hi reiny~What do you mean the tag said "reported"? I have
never seen that or heard that ever! Why would that be in a
tag? If someone is reporting something they the discussion
just gets deleted. No one ever puts the words reported in
a tag. What did you write that would have to be reported
anyway? Nothing that I can think of and I respond to just
about every one of your discussions. I can't think of any
that would even come close to offending anyone ever! That
is really strange. And there have been many heavy topics
that have gotten way out of control and not been deleted
that should have been!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you responded to it - you're one of my faithful followers :)
It was the NYE one, and I think it might have LOOKED like it was violating the "don't start a discussion that's the same as everyone elses' ". If you look at it in the listing, you see "reported" as the last tag, but if you look at the actual discussion, you don't see it.
I have no clue how some of this works... And I've been here a while!!!

Hey there MSV1313 - so far that discussion hasn't been deleted, so I'm not really sure what's going on with it. I think it may have been looked at after it may have been reported and they decided it was legit. Only time will tell.

Was that one that had "duplicate discussion" in the tags. Well I am happy to report that I did not answer it. So I can breathe easier. Maybe you should write to myLot and say that since you did not break the guidelines, you do not want it deleted.

Hmmm.... It does say that now, it didn't the other day... That is so strange. Although I'm sure MANY people posted just the question with really no discussion, I don't think mine was a duplicate. I had what I figure are very thought-provoking ideas in it. Eh, maybe not though...
Regardless, it's been a couple days and it's still active so maybe I'm ok - or maybe I'm speaking too soon. We'll have to wait and see.

Sorry you had a discussion reported. Some people apparently don't have anything better to do. I don't start too many discussions, so the odds of it happening to me is slimmer than those who start many discussions.

I go in spurts, earlier in the week I had a lot to discuss... Not so much here lately... I haven't checked it yesterday or today to see if it's gone, but I do hope it's still here!

I see this one was tagged mature content I don't see what's mature content about it. I really like Mylot I wish that this wouldnt go on unjustly.

I found out that "mature content" gets tagged automatically on certain words. When I talk about my charity walk - B R E A S T cancer - it gets tagged for that word. Nothing mature about it really, but it's all automatic so they have no clue.

I am sorry to hear that. I've never heard of such a thing before (the tag) I wish things were investigated to make sure they really broke rules instead of just deleted or there was some kind of warning system.

myLot is a great site, but they do have a few things they could improve. And we all know that one area is the deletion of discussions...

Hi There! Good Evening! I do understand your sentiments. However, I didn’t receive any notice that my discussion is reported. It was just got deleted because someone thinks that my discussion was a spam… that thread is not a spam… I just ask some questions or advices… but someone reported my post. I was new in mylot then and I got disappointed but I just kept going… I just don’t know… for me if I get offended by the discussion, I will not reply at all or so… I mean, why report a discussion when you know that it is not bad or something… oh well… some people are just like that but I am glad that most people here in mylot are cool and nice!
Thanks for the discussion. Happy Mylotting! Cheers!

I'm not quite sure what you mean but I do know that discussions are deleted when someone reports it to myLot administration for a violation of some kind. Often when someone does this, they will leave a tag that says "reported" to warn others that the discussion will probably be deleted and thus saving them time in reporting it themselves and also to help them know not to answer the discussion , since it will disappear shortly anyway.

You know, that does make sense to put it there as a warning so that people wont respond and lose their earnings. I don't like it, but it make sense!

There really has been an awful lot of discussions deleted of late. More than normal.
I was off MyLot for over a week and losts lots of cents from deleted discussions. I have never seen so many before.
I really think Mylot are clamping down bigtime, so I expect we are going to see even more from now on.
I am sorry your whole discussion will be deleted though for silly reasons. I seen a goodbye one disappearing in a few minutes oneday and it was all lovely replies on it.

I have been lucky so far.It has happened to me that one of my discussions I was talking about birds in my garden and variety of birds Blue,Coal, ladies fronts and they would not print it,but I would have never have thought any discussions you come up with would be offensive,I find this very hard to beleave,do they read them before they remove them.or do they just do it on someone elses say so.I suppose you could look at how many you have done and one out of all those is really a small percentage.

I'm not really sure what will happen, but you are right, it's one in a lot so I shouldn't be too upset. Only thing is, everyone who responded will be affected also :-(
