I believe in predesination.
The choices we make are predestined before we do them.
For example, it was in my destiny to post this.....did I make a choice to post here, yes, but if I didn't post then would that have changed my destiny? No, because if I didn't post, then it wasn't IN my destiny, hence it would not have happened.

I think "predestined choices" sounds more like what I mean to say:)
We make choices but they were already in our destiny (predestined)
This is a great thread by the way-it's nice that someone started a real discussion instead of "What's your favorite color?"
;)

for me, destiny is just our term for God's will... we didn't choose to be born, He chose us...that's why i believe it...and i believe life is nothing but a series of opportunities to glorify Him and be reminded of His love...=)

I'm not against God, in fact I fear Him. But if that were your stand, I think I'll have to disagree in some of the phrases. True, not our choice to be born, but it was the choice of other persons made for us, in this case mum and dad. This is how I see God's Love. It is so vast that he gave us the whole world to make the most out of it. Now it's totally up to you what choices you make that will dictate your destiny. Thanks for the thought. Hope I stirred it up a little. Thanks again.

It a hard one. I think I believe in both choice and destiny.

Life is with its twists and turns, as everyone of us sometimes learns, and many a failure turns about. When a person might have won had one where he got stuck; One should not give it up, though the pace seems slow - one might succeed with another blow. The good things of life are not to be had singly, but come to us as a mixture, like a school going children's holiday declared at school with a task affixed (homework) to the tail of it.

AGREE. But which was there first? Just like a question of what made it first the egg or the chicken. We also have to take into account, that our destiny could also be affected by the choices other people make. Sometimes other people's destiny change because of a series of events not within our grasp of control but by OTHERS. In this case certainly not my choice, but it has become my destiny. What do you think man?
