I cook most of the time. I love spices. I have garlic and onion in my dish. I think I couldn't live cooking without it. It makes the food really smell good. The fresher the better it would taste. Sometimes when I fry it the kids think I am frying chicken or pork. They connect the smell of chicken and pork with garlic and onion. It's funny but true. Seasoning could really make ones food a lot better.

I use salt the most and then I would have to say garlic. I never use pepper I just don't like the taste of it we don't even have pepper in the pepper shaker. I use garlic salt to flavor our roasts and also to flavor the hamuburger that will be used in the spaghetti.

That's a tough one, I'd say it's a tie cinnamon and ginger, because I use them in most everything and I use the same proportions of each.

Wow, someone else who actually knows about and uses bay leaves! I just bought a huge container of them when I was visiting back home in Louisiana. You can't get them in huge containers like that up here. I use bay leaves in spaghetti sauce, soups, curry dishes, and marinades...as well as any cajun foods that I make. They have a subtle flavor, but it's there.

I love using bay leaves, but your right they only come on small bottles where I live and aren't cheap. But they are worth the extra flavor they bring to dishes. Just not the same when I don't add them.

We use tons of garlic too. In fact, we keep it in many different forms: garlic salt, granulated garlic powder, minced garlic, pureed garlic and whole garlic cloves... and we use them all for different things.
We try to not use a ton of salt, but of course use some, and we use a couple of different kinds of pepper too. Other favorite seasonings are Greek Seasoning and Cajun Seasoning.

I use seansoning salt the most. Next to that would be garlic (even though hubby hates the smell, I still use it in recipes; only in lighter amounts). Hubby uses Lemon Pepper on most things. He loves it. We go through more of that spice than anything else.

I will break my answer into twqo areas. One being seasoning as I seldom use salt due to health and diet issues with my dad etc. We use Mrs Dash for the most part. We have 2 varieties as well, table blend and original blend. These both have a lot of other spices in them. Now as far as spice used the most, other than Mrs. Dash I would say oniopn poweder as the Mrs Dash varieties we use have enought of the other spices like garlic etc. We use a lot of fresh garlic though in cooking as opposed to spices or seasoning garlic.

I use garlic most often, either fresh or garlic powder. I also use a lot of basil and hot pepper- either powder or sauce, depending on what I am cooking.

I buy garlic powder but I don't buy the garlic salt since it is two salty and not enough garlic flavor for me. I like to buy Mrs. Dash Garlic and herb and garlic and pepper and Lemon pepper. They can be used in or on just about anything.

I know what you mean about garlic salt. I really only use it to add a little garlic flavor to things that I would add salt to. When I make roasted potato wedges in the oven, I will sprinkle chili powder and garlic salt over them. Also, sometimes I will use a little garlic salt when I make tuna salad. I wouldn't add fresh garlic to those things. Normally, though, it's gotta be fresh garlic. It tastes so much better than the dried garlic, powders, and seasoning mixes.
