I'm sorry, I can't help it!!! I'm bugged by the star rating!

I don't know, maybe it's just that I'm Obsessive Compulsive or something, but eversince my star rating dropped from a 10 to the 9 (and even came a point when I was already a 6), I can't help but be bothered.
I know it has nothing to do with payment or something, but I just can't help but wonder how could it be when I'm doing so well with mylot?!
Hahaha..
I don't know, most especially now that I'm a 9. It makes me wonder why can't it be a 10?!
Anyhow, have you ever had this feeling? When you can't help but be ticked by something that should be given much importance in the first place?

You see the positive (+), negative (-), and report (!) buttons beside a comment a person does? Those are actually ratings. When you reach 100th post, your star rating would appear ~ like those in our names. These actually vary according to how people rate your responses. So, if a lot rate you positively, your star rating (and the stars themselves) change according to rank, blue with a number 10 is the highest. On the other hand, if a person or people rate you negatively, then your star rating would decrease. When someone rates your comment as (!) report, then it has a good chance of getting deleted.
They also say that posting or rating would also affect your earnings. So you better rate everyone you meet!

I have been a nine for around three months and got a ten for just one day. Beats me what happened and why one day only, but I have not been on much with Christmas and today it was down to an eight and it has disheartened me also.

Sometimes I think it has to do with how other people perceive you, and if I were you, I would just continue posting and maybe someday enough people will rate you positive to help make you a "10" again. What happens here is some people tend to get Rate Happy, and if they disagree with someone or something said here, then they will post you negative, and if they continue to do that, or others do that to you, then you see your Rating fall. All I can say is continue have Fun posting, and do your Best and you will be rewarded.

Yeah, I did my fair share of being a non-conformist and I guess that's why I have a 9 star instead of a 10.
I say people who rate you negatively if you don't agree with them are just immature.
Now I get why I am a 9 instead of a 10! I almost forgot I wasn't agreeing all the time! hahahaa..

lol. well if i were u i guess i would be bugged by it too!! it seems like nothing but i think that having your star rating to be a ten instead of a nine would be sort of like a personal achievement to you. maybe that's why you are so hung up on the rating. simple things like that bug me sometimes but i try my best to ignore it although that never works very well. hopefully your star rating will return to a ten because i know you will definitely be pleased about that. best of luck!!

I had the same experience my friend not in ratings but the number of posts that I made that dropped down. But they (mylotters) said that maybe I responded to a discussion that was deleted. They also said that I'll gained it but if I keep on responding and discussing good issues and it did! Just be patient and keep on posting my friend!

i never been bothered with my star ratings at all... i don't think that it is that important... but i can't blame you if you are bothered by it... it is your choice... but all i can say is just try to enjoy and have fun here and worry about more important matter... as you say, the ratings doesn't affect your earnings... it is only a star... so why should we pay so much attention to it??? take care and have a nice day...

all the people have different thoughts and this make them do some non-democratic actions here. the star rating system is not a perfect one and anyone can give you a negative rating if he or she doesn't agree with your reply. If you have done something which the majority doesn't like, then you can have your star rating going down.
It happened to me and I used to give good ratings for the people who wrote some good replies even if I didn't agree. However, I doN't do that anymore.My star rating has gone down many times just for expressing my opinion on some discussions and I just do the same thing to the people who I don't agree.
Don't let the star rating to bother you, just try enjoying mylot as much as you can :)

I was never really bothered by the star rating even though I do wonder sometimes why it always has the same color But it's ok as long as I get the responses that keep me entertained.

Yeah, I wished I could do the same. I actually didn't care about the star rating for a long while most especially when I just started out and my star rating was increasing, it was just this time when it seemed to stop rising and start dropping! hahahaha..

I've never really paid a lot of attention to the star rating. I just post and reply and somedays it is a 9 and somedays and 8. I've not hit a 10 yet but I still keep on posting.

even i dont understand how that works.. nor i could understand how it affects the payout. maybe someone might come out with an explanation, but i wonder even if they know correctly how everything goes on here.. anyway good that you got a good rating..
