hey guys im just curious if every time you go in vacation/travel (which the primary motive is to unwind and relax not on business) do you really feel relax and refresh ? i mean while on a vacation...in my case if im on a vacation to a certain place to unwind..its the reverse...i feel tired and everything at the end of the day but very happy...maybe unwinding ourselves depends on the location or places..i guess the beach is the best place to go..what do you think guys? in your opinion what is the best place?

I love going on vacations, but I swear it takes WEEKS to recover from an out of town trip.
I used to say that it took me all week to recover from a weekend out of town. It took several weeks to recover from a week's vacation.
I think my last trip, well, besides the weekend to Houston, was actually not to bad, only the flight too and from were bad because I didn't have my sister to help with mom, even tho my brother was a lot of help.
Of course, the last time I took off from work was because I had surgery and was recovering from that so I was pretty much ready to go back to work when I was allowed.

I guess it depends on who organizes the trip and what they hope to achieve on a vacation. Some people want to make the most of their holidays, and so try and pack as much as they can see and do for the holiday money they spend, then rush around and tire themselves out. Some choose to go for adventure and opt for a physically demanding holiday by roughing it out, going trekking or mountain climbing and doing the outdoors. That's not exactly a relaxing holiday but may be their idea of a fun-filled holiday. Most people treat holidays as a time to unwind and forget about work for a while. It may not have to be a vacation where one is totally relaxed by the beach doing nothing all day. For me, when I vacation, I like to do a variety of things - sight-see, shop, relax by the pool or beach, eat and hire a car and explore places I've not seen before. I may tire myself on some days with an action-packed holiday, but what counts for me is that I enjoy myself in the process doing the things I like to do.

I am so lucky, my husband always planned our trips and I didn't have to do anything except go along, this allowed me to relax from a very stressful job and that way I could enjoy the trip and be refreshed and ready to go back to work when we got home.

There's so much to see and do while traveling that when I get home I'm pooped. But, even so, I wouldn't stop traveling. Traveling is just too much fun and I can rest later.

Whenever I am on a vacation , be it at the beach or just some historical place. I feel so relaxed because I am away from the usual work load I have and I am not tagged into my daily budget wherein I am allowin myself to spend more thatn usual. Vacations will make you feel more calmed and at ease with life. More thinking for plans and dreams to achieve.

I do unwind by seeing lots of different places. Being in a foreign country give me a sense of freedom, I feel relaxed. No connection with work or relatives. I feel as if the problems were carried away. I prefer to have a holiday where it is fully packed with activities to do. If I need to go to the beach and relax I can take a holiday in my own country. I live in an island surround by sea.

Well, I am a nature lover. So if you ask me such question, I would go to the beach. Eventually the beach is the usualy hangout with me and my family. We live in a place where there are a lot of pretty and nice beaches in just a few minutes drive. So on weekends, its a favorite hangout. Sometimes for long vacations we travel at least 100 kilometers from our place and there is this waterfalls with some rooms we can rent for overnight stay or even for days. It is also very relaxing and the water is very cold. Usually best during summer.

Hello There! More likely, when going on vacation, I feel relaxed and excited but sometimes I can’t help it but get tense when there is a problem along the way or back in the office… I usually finish all stuff especially all my deadline at work before going into vacation so I will not have a colleague or boss to bother me on my vacation or trip. Yes, beach is the best place to relax with a nice hotel to stay for three nights or so but my other suggestion is going to some place to check tourist spots or scenery then takes some pictures while traveling!
Thanks for the discussion!
Happy Mylotting and have a great day ahead! Cheers!

Hi Vanities, I don't know why, but I usually come back from a vacation more tired than before I go. Maybe I shouldn't join tours or be too ambitious to visit too many places on a trip. In fact I am thinking that my next vacation should be at one of the local destinations - just one place to unwind and relax.

When i think about vacation i feel excited to move now. It gives me the complete feeling of relaxation especially if I'm going home to my native town. Our house is located at the middle of ricefield. The breeze of air was so sweet to smell and i feel to sleep when I was there for almost whole day. The feeling of my child memory back again and no memory of problems left from the city where I lived. How nice to have a vacation in my hometown and the beach is close enough to go every morning. Have a nice vacation this coming summertime!

Climbing high moutains is the best choice for me, of course you feel tired after the trip. but you chould not miss the fun because of of this.we will be tired physically but won't you unwinding mentally? I am always fond of travelling everywhere, but pitifully I haven't been to many places up to now. hope I have more chances in the future and you too.

I enjoy each travel/vacation 'cause always staying in the lab makes me crazy. In a travel/vacation means you are in a different place, you breath freely and happily. You do not think about anything but enjoy it.
Beach is a good choice.I like the blue sea water and lying on the beach in the sunshine. That is totally unwinding.

I feel very relaxed when I am on a palm fringed beach in a hot climate. I love to go snorkeling to see a coral reef and mix with all the friendly fish. I enjoy walking along the beach, paddling in the sea and feeling it gently lap against my feet. It is so relaxing to watch a the sunset and then later to look at at all the stars in the night sky. I love to have adventure and excitement when I am traveling. I enjoy seeing wildlife and sightseeing around historic sites. A long haul flight can be tiring but once I arrive I feel happy and relaxed.

Well we started traveling for Brad's work in October and the drive is 16-20 hours. It just depends on how many times you stop and how fast you drive and it takes a full day to recover from the drive but it is like a vacation. We are actually staying here and eventually will relocate. I have never wanted to do anything like this but I have to say that it is so relaxing and so stress-free it is wonderful. You just don't seem to have as much on you and it is so relaxing. There is a little worry you know like things that could happen while you are not home or stuff but it is so nice. It is like an extra-long vacation. The beginning and end is stressful though because of all the packing planning, then you get in the vehicle and remember what you forgot. It seems that no matter how many lists you make you always forget something, no matter how big or how small. I forgot my sunglasses this time but luckily we were only were a 1/4 of a mile down the road so I got lucky on that. I find it more relaxing than anything though.

It depends on who is the organizer of the trip. If I'm the one, I will normally plan for a relaxing trip even though it costs a lot. I just don't like the feeling of rushing here and there because after the trip, it will be very tiring which defeats the purpose of having the vacation in the first place.

Yes too long trip and a one or two days spent for a vacation won't let you feel relaxed. As returning home with a long trip again is tiring. Oh yes you can't avoid to feel tired in a vaction place where there are recreational activities. You'll go hiking, horseback riding, swimming etc. I think if I'd like to relax I'll stay in a five star hotel and rest for a week. No cooking, no appointments no phone calls but merely sleep eat and shower.
