Are we born to be what I am or trained to be what I will be?

When you are choosing your career, will you make the decision based on your ability that you already developed or tapping on a new industry that you are interested in but are not skilled enough? In terms of choosing career, does our developed skills(while versus to to-be-developed skills) decide what we can do? If that's the case, then, everybody can only be what he is? Living in a cruel work environment, we are not given opportunties to learn what we do not possess.

It depends on how much risks are you willing to take and how much commitment do you have at that moment. If you have a lot of commitments or there are people who are depending on your salary, then you cannot take those risks. It is better to stick to what you do best and get the best salary available in order to survive. But if you really have the urge to pursue what you love but also what you don't know, then you have to take it one step at a time. Do it part time and see if you really like it before jumping straight into the river. The last thing you want is to jump in, with a much lowered pay, but finding it not as interesting as you thought it would be.

We can surely be what we choose to be by dedication & commitment. However we are all born to be good at something. In Ancient gurukul system of India, a child was assesed & according to his potential his caste & nature of work was chosen. Let me clarify. Some bodies are more atheletic than other and can do better in jobs that require physical activity. others can master the skill too, but with much more effort. Similarly some are born to be good with numbers I am sure they will make better financial analyst than me.
