When you first joined, what was the most confusing thing? For me, I did not really have any problems responding to discussions. However, I was very confused by the earnings and still am. What puzzled you the most when you first joined myLot?

You are on the dot. I too was got confused by the earning methodology, when I joined here. I responded to a few discussion, however did not see a cent on the earning profile. I felt very disappointed, I thought in my heart of heart - "What kind of site it is? It is supposed to be a earning site, however, despite me answering some discussion, there was 'nil' earnings. Thereafter, I checked after 2 or 3 days, I noticed that the earning slab was showing - 0.9 cents. I could not understand that despite of my responses to various discussions, I could only muster 0.9 cents. I gave up the site and did not log in again. After few days, I logged in again, the same 0.9 cents were being shown as my earnings. I gathered my couraged and started replied again to some discussion, sent some request for the add and I also went through some interesting and meaningful discussion very carefully to know what this site is all about and how it works. Gradually, I learned how to post meaningful respones and comments and how to start my own discussions, thereafter I did not look back. I have been here for nearly two years and I always enjoy working here.

A very similar thing happened to me also. I earned only four cents on the first day and thought it would take 1000 posts or so to reach payout although later I learned that was not so and I reached my first payout at only 400 posts or so. I came back after a month and did what you did and I just got used to it. Thanks for responding and have a nice day!

Nothing, It's just that I don't have enough time at most to respond on discussions. I'm too busy right now especially the start of new year.

That is very interesting to hear. What makes you so busy already at the start of the new year?

Work of course. Too many work loads because our country had a long holidays that started December 24 until January 4 this year. Even I used time management, still some suppose to be what I will do cannot be done on time.

I think what might have confused me the most was how the earnings were figured. I still don't know the answer to that question. I think one that can be confusing would be to figure out how to start the many discussions out there, and try to make up some unique ones.

I don't think anyone knows the answer to that question. I think I read somewhere that the heads at mylot don't like us even questioning that topic. Who knows anyway. As long as I get my earnings, I'm happy. lol

No one knows how the earnings are calculated here. I once thought I needed 4000 posts to make payout after I earned only four cents on my first day. It is one of the great mysteries of mylot. Have you found any information regarding your question? I mean, have you figured out yet how they figure out the earnings?

You are absolutely correct. But I'm with you on that one. If someone offers you good, honest, legal money for participating in a fun community, then why argue? As long as I get paid, I'm cool with however they are calculating them.

I was confused about adding interests first. I now know to just leave them alone. I'm still unsure about the earnings, like how much does each post give you. I estimated it at about 4 cents for me but i'm not too troubled about I just let my earnings roll. As for the star, the colour looks nice. Don't really care about the number as it shouldn't affect your earnings? As for the mylot code i'm aiming for 200 posts at the moment so i can use them.

Why do interests confuse you and why do you leave them alone? I just added everything that interested me. I think the earning method is the way it is so we don't worry about it. I doubt it is that high but I won't argue. Thanks for responding and happy mylotting! Good luck reaching 200 posts!

I don't think I have met real difficult qustions siince I joined mylot. I just earned one cent in my first day, which also made me very happy. I never have made extra monry through online before. Now I wonder how could I make more money in a day on mylot. I'm not a native English speaker, so there are still some difficulties for me to understand every discussion. But I have the confidence to improve my English and make better responses. Happy mylotting!

So you did not know why you earned money? Good for you that you are here for the conversations and not the money. Happy mylotting!

I didn't have any real problems, Mylot was pretty easy to follow. I suppose when I first started here I was a bit confused over their star rating but that was cleared up in about two minutes. Mylot is just a fun place to hang out.

I agree. It was pretty easy to get started and once you get used to it, it is like second nature. I read some discussions about the star rating and I learned what it was and more information about it. Mylot is a very fun place to hang out.

I also had a similar experience. I only earned four cents on the first day and was very disappointed so I did not come back for a month. Once I knew what I was doing though, I started to earn so much more and not even care about earnings anymore. Thanks for responding and happy mylotting!

What confused me most when I just joined mylot is how to get started. I just figured out by myself that I have to choose my interests.

Yeah, same here. I didn't add a lot of discussions until later on. I just replied and added them as I went. Thanks for responding and happy mylotting!

The only confusing part of MyLot in my opinion are the number of interests and the icons associated with each of them. I would feel better if those icons are not there and I can just search and add my interests simply by selecting the text from a list or something. It's just so confusing with all the icons of different sizes.

I can see where that could be confusing. I think the icons are so that you can find an interest without looking for the words. I find them useful because I know the tree stands for make extra money and so it is easier for me to find. But I can definitely see where it can seem confusing. Thanks for responding!

... why would they give members money just for participating in the site's discussion ... that thing boggled me the most ... and i am also puzzled with the earning thing ...

That would seem very confusing and I am disappointed I do not have the answer to that one. Well, I think of it as a reward for participating in such an awesome community. Thanks for responding and have a great day!
