I've only flown three times in my life so far. I always make sure I get to the airport on time and about 1 1/2 hours before the flight takes off. My brother on the other hand will get to the airport last minute. Today he missed his flight home because he got to the airport 20 minutes before the flight was supposed to leave. Have you ever missed your flight and if so how many minutes late were you?

I missed my flight one time when I was coming home from Mexico. My friends and I were so mad! We were not the only ones that missed that flight either. There were others. They had the time wrong on our tickets! Instead of the time we were loading they had the time that the plane was leaving on there! We were sitting right there waitting to be loaded when they finally didn't call it we asked them what was going on with the flight and they said it just left. There was another woman and a man that were more mad than us because they were to be at a concert to play in that night and needed to get back. Next flight out of Mexico for the state we were going to wasn't for another week! So we ended up going to the next closest airport which was in the complete opposite direction than the airport are vehicle was at. Rented a vehicle from there drove home that night and then the next day had to take the rental to the other airport to get our vehicle. We lived about 5 hrs. from the airport one way and about 4 hrs from the other airport. Long and boring drives.

Nope they tried saying it was our fault. Each one of us, even the people we didn't know called the airline company and complained and nothing came about it!

I always like to arrive in plenty of time in order to catch a flight. However twice in my life I have nearly missed my flight. I was with my older son when he was five years old and London Underground had delays on the Circle Line. We got to station in London too late for the train I wanted us to get. We had to get a slow train that stopped at all stations. We arrived at the last minute to check in then we rushed get board the plane to Italy. Unfortunately we didn't have time to exchange currency. We arrived at a small airport in Sardinia and the exchange booth wasn't open. I had to ask another traveler to exchange money. I got enough to get into town then I went to a bank but it took ages to get in. I had to put all bags in a locker before entering the bank.
I was so worried about missing my flight from Tel Aviv to London. Everyone waited in a line and had an interview about what they had been doing in Israel. I was nervous looking over to the check in desk that I so desperately wanted to reach. I had been on an independent tour around Israel and over to Jordan. The immigration officer got me taken to a room where my luggage received a very detailed search. I was innocent and it took ages but they did let me go. I almost missed my flight by one minute. Oh my! That was a scary time for me. I might have had to wait another week to come home.

I missed my flight one time when there were excessive long delays for securtiy in the airport. This was shortly after 9/11 and there were many people in line at the airport. There were probably 2,000 people waiting to go through securtiy. Fortunatley there was another flight like an hour later. Another time we missed a flight I dont think we were actually late but all the seats were taken. We got on a later flight. I also got bumped by choice a ccouple of times for flight.
