Does the kind of music you listen to depend on your mood?

I have noticed lately that whenever I am happy I usually choose to listen to loud music and happy and fun-filled songs. On the other hand if I am sad or depressed or feeling low about something I automatically choose to listen to sad songs. So my mood basically decides the kind of music I listen. Does this happen to you?

Yeah, me too and it happened to me. Take the same steps like what you did and like. Music is actually sources from noises. But after it was perfectly arranged and well mixed, the said "noises" changed its name as music. So, music is a well composed between arrangement of 'noises' from the instrument and mixed with superb-nice-vocal, it gives out the genre. This genre that cause great affection to listeners. The affection contributes our mood.

Sometimes the kind of music depends on the mood I'm already in. Other times it depends on the kind of mood I want to be in. For example I'm never in the mood for housework but it does have to be done. I find it helps, and I get a lot more done if I put some energetic music on. If I'm playing at the computer it doesn't matter what I have on. But if I want to work at it and not be distracted it helps to put on classical or easy listening types of music.

Well....I think so. I never intentionally notice about that. But I always like classical music, regardless my mood. My other favorite music is songs sung by beautiful singer with beautiful voice. That will even change my bad mood into good mood. LOL

Hello There! Yes, different moods when listening to music. When I am not in the mood, I don’t like hearing very sad song… sometimes; I would like to hear rock songs to have my mood change into something. For me, music really affects our moods in someway. But when I am like broken hearted, I am like EMO… or emotional… I love hearing sad songs… it makes me think…. Hehehe…. Goodluck and thanks for the discussion! Happy Mylotting! Cheers!

Yes, whenever I play songs at home it always depend on my mood and on the occasions also. If it's Christmas season, I barely listen to the songs I usually play coz I only want to listen to Christmas songs and on Sundays I like to listen to Christian songs.

Yepper, how I feel does effect what kind of music I'm in the mood for. If I'm happy I will listen to up beat bouncey music. Or if I'm working out I'll listen to that Nu-metal, black metal, or aggressive punk rock music. Not only that, the type of music I listen to, also, affects me,too. I maybe in a slow groggy, not ready for the day, type mode and throw on some fast playing music to get me going. Or I may want to wind down from the day and relax and throw on some easy listening type music. I do believe that "music is the soundtrack to life."

Yes, I do agree with you. I love to listen to music too and most of the time the choice depends on my mood. When I am sad and needs to think I choose mellow sounds. But if I am sad and I want to lift my spirit, I listen to a warm and happy music. Take care and have a good day =)
