I have a friend who owns a Pomeranian dog and he would always feed his dog when he is eating or having snacks. So he would throw him a buscuit when he is having his evening tea or would give some food to the dog when he is having dinner. The result is dog is always looking to be fed when ever he is eating so when i went to his home and he served us with tea and snacks his dog would always be around the centre table where we were sitting and would be salivating profusely and making sounds like feed me. I felt horrified as i never feed her when i am eating or snacking and she would never behave this way when some guests come. So do feel it is ok to let ur dog behave like this?

My babies get fed just before we eat. They do get some of what we eat but only when we are done. I make sure I have a bite or two each for them when I'm done.
When I say this is mine they know what I mean and they go lay down.

no not really, he always eats before we do. He is quite the beggar though.

our cats eat whenever they want and yes if we had dogs we would be feeding them, the scraps off the dish extra, you are of course right how you have trained your dog but lots of us just let our animals eat when we eat.

My dogs aren't allowed near us when we are eating. They go lay down and when everyone is done, I do allow them to have some of the left overs. But they have to wait until I split it up on seperate plates and head towards the front porch. Then they get all exited, because they know that they are getting something good if I'm heading to the porch with plates!

Our dog is very spoiled and loved. When we sit down to eat, he stops whatever he is doing [or not doing] to run over and bark really loud and make sure he gets a bite of the food we're eating. Then, he barks for another bite. We can't train him because at least one person is going to forget and give him something. Plus, he's simply stubborn. I think I like him this way, though. It gives him personality, and it's not a horrible nuisance. We just throw some food outside to get him to go away if necessary.
