Fried egg sandwiches

Never ate breakfast this morning so I just made myself a fried egg sandwich for "brunch". I love them on toast with a little margarine and a dash of salt and pepper. My husband actually puts mayo on them which doesn't sound so good to me. Do you eat fried egg sandwiches? Only for breakfast? Do you put something else on them?

well... i don't really eat breakfasts given the time i wake up. BUT i do love eating eggs. And fried egg sandwich just taste delicious. Well, i don't restrict myself to such delicacies for breakfast. I do have them during tea breaks if i happen to see one. If i'm to prepare my own sandwich, aside from fried eggs, i would add in tomatos, mayo and tomato sauce. YUM! If i want to be healthy that day, i would add lettuce. That would be about it.

I will quite often have one at lunch. I use our little microwave egg cooker (so I guess it isn't technically a 'fried' egg) and put it on some whole wheat toast with a little margarine on it. I usually can't resist putting some cheese on there are well. There's a restaurant here that does them with mayo and something that's almost like red hamburger relish. They are so good, I get cravings for them at the oddest times.

The red stuff you're talking about is probably pimientos, the same stuff that they stuff green olives with.

I have seen them in a few places but not many. You would think more would have it as it's so easy to make and cheap it would be practically all profit!

I absolutely love fried egg sandwhiches. They are really good at anytime of the day or for a quick snack when you are hungry. We usually have them at supper time for some reason. I just put salt and pepper on mine also. I love them on thick crusty bread or a soda 'toasted'. Now I am starving rocketj1

We always had a big Sunday lunch (we called it dinner) after church when I was a kid. So supper time was usually sandwiches. We often had fried egg sandwiches then.

Hi there Rocket, Can I get one of those sandwiches, and ask you to hold the egg? I realize that the eggs can be an excellent source of protein, however, they are on my short list of foods to avoid. In general, there are not many foods that I will avoid at all costs, but eggs are one of them. I'm not allergic to them, and all eat them in other things, especially if there wrapped in something sweet and sugary, like a pastry, or a chocolate cake! , if you would like me to eat the egg all by itself; You can keep the egg! I think for me personally it's the texture of the egg that I can tolerate. It's all squishy, slimy and slippery. EEEWWWWWW! Hold my egg please! That's just my 2ยข worth, and happy Mylotting!

I'm not actually sure if I have had a fried egg sandwich, if so it was out somewhere.. never at home. I don't think that a little mayo would make it taste bad but a lot might would.

I do eat fried egg sandwiches. I will eat them whenever I am hungry and am in the mood for them. I know that this might not sound good to other people but I eat mine with ketchup. My husband eats them with mayo and cheese which does not sound good to me either.

When I have a fried egg sandwich I don't usually toast the bread. I also like to put just butter and salt and pepper on it. I also eat them at different times of the day not just for breakfast. They are good for a snack if I get hungry during the day. Sometime some beef or turkey bacon is good on them. But no mayo please.

I had one once. I am rather fussy. I would rather get the hard boiled egg, chop it up, add some chives, cayenne pepper, mayonnaise and salad dressing and make a deviled egg sandwiches. I would put mayonnaise on mine. I have not made it on toast though. I just used bread. Maybe that is where I went wrong. With fried eggs, I just put them on the plate and then have them with toast or hash browns and it would be for brunch. I also have ketchup and if possible a couple of slices of bacon or two sausages.

I sometime make egg sandwiches for lunch. The guys like theirs toasted with salt, pepper and ketchup. I like mine NOT toasted and with salt and pepper only. We actually eat a lot of eggs. They're not cheap either.

I put mayo on my fried egg sandwiches too. I used to always use butter, but my sister uses mayo and convinced me to try it once. I liked it and have been doing it since.
