As white as snow?

NOT! This photo proves that statement fals. Wolke up expecting a few inches of snow today. We got a few minutes of flurries only. Well the city and or county was around plowing and clearing snow piles this afternoon. Not a lot of fun. Especially as they plow the snow towards the houses not awayt from them. I had a good 8 to 12 inches of brown, wet, sloppy, heavy, slush in front of my druiveway this afternoon. If left there too long, with the temps we have now, it would have froze making it very difficult to leave or enter my driveway. This is the gunk I had to shovel onto my lawn etc. You can see the really white snow at the bottom of the photo. So, yes I love snow, but I hate BROWN SNOW! I guess brown snow is a lot better than yellow snow huh?

Fresh snowfall is beautiful but after people get involved the reality sets in. I remember living in an area where the snow fell like that. It was beautiful to see and my kids always wanted to go out and play in it. Of course I would let them but it always made me sad to see how they damaged the looks of the landscape just by walking in it.

Nice smiley Barb.
Yes a fresh nsowfall is very serene and so white and poure looking.
Up North at the farm the ground is always so white throughoput the winter. The drive is a distance from the drive and the house so you can't see the brown snow on the highways. I love seeing kids and critters footprints in the snow. It makes the landscape all that prettier with them I feel.

've joked with friends a few times by adding a little yellow food colroing to snow. Then make a snowball and hit them with it then mention it was yellow snow. The see the yellow and get all grossed out. Mean sometimes, but funny as well.

I love your sense of humor. It sounds as warped as ours sometimes. hahahaha When our kids were little we would make homemade ice cream a lot in the summertime and one day I said we needed to put food color in it and we did, we put green in. When we checked to see if the ice cream was ready to eat we told the kids it wasn't ready, it wasn't ripe yet and they believed us at first. After that they sometimes would want to pick a color to make the ice cream.
Do you ever make snow cream?

I do love freshly fallen snow. The snow that is along the roadways can be so nasty looking after it has been there for a week or more. I often wish that it would snow again to cover the dingy frozen mess.

That is why I was all hyped for some fresh snow today.
Seems it all moved South of me during the night though.
I have to walk to get the mail and right at the mailbox in the street it is a sloppy, and slushy brown mess.

It isn't all that bad most times.
Just a little extra hard work is all. But then a new snowfall makes up for that hard work. Then back to the hard work. A never ending cycle during winter which is okay by me. I need something to whine about once in awhile, don't I?

Hi dear friend! Now, I am feeling bad..I want to have some snow here in my place! haha..just joking! Yes, snow is beautiful and the hard work of cleaning it up is a little price to pay for the beauty it gives. Oh, yes you can whine all the time if you want..I promise I won't whine on your whining! haha..

The plows do undo lots of work and they cause us lots of work. We need them to go down the street and plow but then look what they leave for us to clean up. I don't have a drive way, they come down the street and bury the car. I guess its something you just get used too and have to deal with, its not fun. Be careful out there cleaning that up. We are getting dumped on with snow, I just came in from shoveling. fun, fun, not........

I just hate it when that happens. The snow is so pretty when it is all white. The brown mixed in makes it look so nasty.

Sorry, can't agree with you on this one, grampa bob. Yellow snow is better because it is just one little discoloration that we can ignore. The brown stuff in front of your driveway is what is wearing you and so many of us down. Given the option, I'd opt for the yellow snow and no brown snow blocking my driveway.

The first time I saw snow pouring out from the sky, I was rejoicing with gladness. Since I grew up in a tropical islands, it is unlikely to have. I felt contented to experience the winter season, wishing that I could share with my family way back then.

Hey grandpa bob! I'm with you on that one! Snow is so pretty
when it is falling! So nice and white and clean! But, only
while it is falling! Once it falls and gets driven on and
plowed that's it! Then you have that ugly brown slushy ugly
mix that no longer looks like that lovely white stuff that
was falling from the sky! I hate that! We are expecting some
of that pretty white snow tomorrow and supposedly plenty of
it! And then it is going to be coming on and off for the
rest of the week! So I guess it's our turn to get some nice
piles of snow! I guess I shouldn't have been so excited about
wanting snow! I had enough of it after the first two snowfalls
and now it isn't going to stop! I think I will be ready for
Spring after this week!
