Can you sleep in a Moving vehical?

I am wondering how many of us can sleep in a moving vehicle? My boyfriend works for a trucking company, so I go with him most days. When I get bored in the truck I lean up against the side and take a snooze. When its late in the night and were going to be out till 3am I usually have a nap. Stretch out on the seats when hes not in the truck then when he is driving I sit up more and I can still manage to sleep. Do you take naps when other people are driving? Say on a vacation or just on a long drive?

LOL, just watching a vehicle move is enough to send me off to la la land. Our truck has heated leather seats, and I'm often nodding off before we leave the driveway! The hubs says I'm the worst traveling companion ever! I don't know why........I don't keep asking 'are we there yet', or snore, and he can have the music as loud as he wants and it won't disturb me, so what's not to like? ROFL

On a long distance drive I have especially if we got an early start. Though I found myself dozing off especially when we drove cross country.

I never could sleep in a moving vehicle. I think I start to get motion sickness from the movement and I can't relax.

I can usually sleep in the car on a vacation and even on just long drives (although it doesn't take very long to get to place to place unless you are going on a vacation.) I can also sleep on the school bus but sitting in the back, it is kind of hard because the roads are really bumpy. So much construction going on. I cannot sleep on the subway as I am afraid I will miss my stop. Same with a public bus. I usually don't sleep on a public bus unless I am with someone. I can sleep on the plane as well because I am so used to it. I think that pretty much covers every moving vehicle I've been on.

It all depends on who is driving. If I trust the driver, and the trip is long, yes, I can sleep. If the driver makes me nervous, forget it, my eyes are on the road.

My sister can drop off at the drop of a hat! I really can't. I don't know if after sleeping in the car for so many years at work, I might not do better, but I always had to recline the seat down to do that so... I'm afraid if I reclined the seat with the car moving, I would be motion sick. Now, on the other hand, I had a friend who needed to go to her mom's and needed to bring something back and I had promised to go with her in my van. Well, that weekend I was really sick, so I layed down in the back seat and slept while she drove, but I was, as I said, really sick. It was about 4 hours to her mom's and I slept most of the way, when we got there I went in and went to sleep after just an hour or so visiting and slept for about 8 more hours. I even dozed on the way back.

If I'm tired enough, yes. I remember when I was little I would fall asleep in the backseat's floor of my Dad's car on a long car ride. It sure makes the trip faster!

I wish i could, but this won't work for me ... well, it does when i am 'down', very tired. Then i simply fall asleep, but cannot say is a good relaxing one . Having a good looking boyfriend would also help me stay awake, at least first 2-3 years ... wow!

I find it's easy to get drowsy sitting in a moving vehicle, especially for a long drive. You can't read comfortably and can't move your body much. So, for the most part, there's only the radio for entertainment. I try not to sleep while travelling cause i'm uncomfortable sleeping where there are people around me. I try to avoid taking long drives and maybe if there's alternative transportation i'll go for it.

I am a person who can manage to sleep even I am in a moving vehicle as long as I feel tired and of course sleepy. I enjoy sleeping while traveling especially if the travel hours are midnight to 5 am. I seldom sleep when I travel during daytime because it feels good to see wonderful scenarios outside the window. So I prefer a travel at night because I can just relax and sleep. I can't resist to view the scenes outside the window during daytime so I really sleep a little.

Ya, i do have the habit of sleeping in a moving vehicle!- mostly in bus. I got this habit when i was pursuing my engineering. Usually in our city, we rarely have any enginnering colleges near by our house. So, we prefer travel by college buses. Early in the morning, with a pleasant ride, who will not dare to have a sleep inside the bus? :) It is really fun. Even iam goind with my dad in a two-wheeler i tend to sleep, but very rarely:)

I usually don't have a big problem sleeping in a vehicle especially if I'm pretty tired and can at least lean my seat back a bit to be able to relax more. I never can sleep very long in the vehicle, maybe 20 minutes tops. However that 20 minutes or so is nice and does help wake me up a bit.

Sometimes yes. I guess it depends on how tired I am. When I'm very tired, I'll be able to take a nap, or something. Other times, when I'm not as tired, then I may just close my eyes and relax.

There are some people I am comfortable riding with to take a nap, and other's I try to keep my eyes open. When I am riding with my husband, I can not go to sleep. He is an aggressive driver and I am always putting on the imaginary brakes. Sometimes, if it is really late, I find myself nodding, but most of the time I try to keep my eyes open.

It is not possible for me to enjoy a good sleep in a moving vehicle. It would be very difficult and inconvenient, so I never sleep in a moving vehicle. In a moving vehicle, I like to see the scenery and natural surroundings. That itself is a good sleep to me.

If the travel is boring and I was too tired, I would have a nap when other people are sleeping. But when I sit next to the driver,I would keep waking and sharing the outside scenery with the driver.Because I think sleeping would infect the driver. It is dangerous for the driver when a person sleeping next to her/him.
