True Friend

Hey dolce! Nice to see you again! Yes, that is what a true friend is supposed to be! But, sadly I have thought I had many a true friend only to find out that when put to the test that they were not! Over the years I have had many friends that I trusted and thought that they would always be there for me no matter what and it turned out that they just couldn't be. The person that was my closest friend for 45 years was the worst example of a true friend. She was always putting me down when in truth she was the one that really needed to work on herself because nobody liked her because of the way she was. I had put up with her for long enough and finally had enough. After telling her over and over that she needed to change I did finally end the friendship. It is really hard to find a true friend in this world. Even when you think you find one, you still can be disappointed in the end.

I believe a "true" friend is someone that knows you are not perfect but excepts you anyway. They may point out the things you to wrong or bad or even help you when you do wrong things, but they know it's wrong or bad...there is no doubt about that. They just accept you anyway. They over look many of your faults or help you with them. Knowing you are "good" is a quality that you must have in your heart and soul. Some people are rotten to the core, a friend still knows you are but they try to help you and be with you anyway. They trully trust in their heart of hearts that you will change for the good some day.

I agree with this quote as well but life has taught me not to expect too much of people. One cannot force a friendship..it just happens. It is total, unconditional, uncompromising trust and loyalty that remains strong even with the hiccups and ups and downs of life. People who have true friends are very, very lucky.

Amen to that. They are never there to judge you no matter what. True friends are so hard to come by these days. People just cannot be trusted and alot of them do not know how to treat you with respect and kindness.

I really agree with this quote and you. I feel that many of the people I gave my heart to have tore it and threw it back at me. It seems like everyone is afraid to be imperfect themselves that they can't accept our imperfections. Many of my 'friends' were robots and a slight few were real.

Hello dolce_vita. True friends are always there for us. I have a few true best friends in my life and they help me a lot and vice versa. I wish you lucky enough to have as many true friends as you can with luck, dear friend.

I agree too, sometimes I try to be there friend but they never think the same thing like me. I dont know why and how... guess what I found out that I have more true guy friend than a girl friend.

There is no doubt in the quote.Friends dont lead or follow you but walk with you in your path.Whatever you face they are with you.Friends in need is friend in deed.We always need a friend.Good friendship can be apllied to every kind of relationship.Like between brothers,brothers and sisters,father and son,mom and child, and so on.Its kind of bank where you can hide all your secrets and love.Be friendly t everybody but make only few good friends.

Hi there! I agree with this saying too. A real friend accepts everything in you. Faults and all. But a real friend should not only accept but also remind and correct you if you are wrong. "A true friend listens to the songs of your heart and also tells you if you are singing out of tune." Ciao!

I agree with u,some one is true friends,i follow one important point that is friend in deed is friend in need.

nowadays a true friend is a rare commodity...it's very seldom that you get to find a sincerely real one through the good and bad times...but i have a few real ones..minted ones..tested by every storm that has come my way....i'm happy that we are still close and see each other from time to time....and i do my best for them too...

i think a true friend is one who has seen all the sides of you and yet has stuck by you regardless of what you did. A true friend never judges you and "offers you his advice" when you are down but rather he is one who will just LISTEN to you instead of offering his views instead.
